Ok, I did my first shot about 10 minutes ago. feeling really good. did just a little , didn't want to do to much. I registered then pulled back a little, saw some blood then proceeded to plunge slowly. when done I pulled the needle out but there was like only 1 very small blood spot. cleaned it up, I have no swelling or lumps around the site.
Does it sound like I did everything right. I'm just worried cause there was hardly no blood when I pulled the needle out. If its done right is this how it should be..
Also I sterilized everything including the water..
Feel like I could of done more but I wanted to start slow so I don't wake up in the hospital..
%)

Most of the time I don't bleed after doing a shot, though it's normal to have just a tiny amount of blood and not a lot come out.

It sounds like you did everything right.

slightly panicked help appreciated =(

ok so i dont know what happened exactly but i was doing a shot and somehow pain shot down my left arm to my fingertips bad. made me hunch over. a raised rash started forming like an allergic reaction. it was hella scary and all i could think of is benadryll for the rash. it looks to be working but not too sure yet. was H in the shot btw.

You might have caught a nerve with your needle..
As for the rash I don't know, maybe there was a cut present that you're allergic to?

I've had similar shooting pains if I've accidentally hit an artery - often even if I haven't even started injecting or even pulled back the plunger. I almost always get a rash and usually a fair amount of swelling from even the tiniest amount of heroin getting into an artery. Swelling is obviously far more dramatic the more you inject. Hitting a nerve can give you a hell of a shock too of course.

Medical attention is always a good idea if you're at all worried about it or it persists but I've always been fine leaving it to fade. Of course if it could well be something else in your case so seeing a doctor wouldn't be a bad idea. Try not to worry - I'm sure it'll be just fine :)

if u r sure its not hitting an artery then my first thought was also hitting a nerve. Hopefully u didn't damage the nerve. If its just a nerve I would think it wouldn't be disabling. If u hit an artery then u need to go to the ER now cuz u might lose part of the limb.

Since you're from California, I'll guess your gear was black tar.

The rashy looking area was most likely just a histamine release. If it went away within an hour, I wouldn't stress over it. That's pretty common when shooting black.

As for the pain, it could've been a number of things. If you didn't release the tie, and it felt like a "pressure", that's usually just the thick consistency of the gear taking up room in the veins. If it was a sharp, piercing, momentary pain you might have hit a nerve. I actually never thought of that until I read this thread, but it makes sense.

Did you end up with any lumps or discoloring at the site ? If you still have any symptoms I'd go see a doctor.. but if everything seems back to normal, I wouldn't worry.

What am I doing wrong?

Hey guys this is my first post so I'm not sure exactly if this is the right place to post this, but hopefully I can get some help.

The past 2 or 3 nights when IVing H I've been wondering if I am missing my shot. I am new to the IV route (just did it to myself for the first time about a week ago, before that had others do it for me). My tolerance is definitely building up (used once a day for 9 straight days) so I've been shooting two bags at once. Overall the rushes have been very weak and last night and tonight I really didn't get a rush at all, which is the whole point I wanted to switch to IV. I get in the vein and blood pulls back in the barrell and then I slowly push it in. Small bubbles form after but this has happened even when I got rushes in the past and they subside pretty quickly. I put heat on it and I might have gotten higher but for about a minute I really didn't feel much of anything tonight. There was no pain when I shot it or anything and it hasn't spread or anything but my friend told me if there's a small bubble I missed it (even though I still felt the effects, just weaker). Is it my tolerance or am I missing every time? I'm going to take off for as long as I can over the next week or so to see if it really is but what do you people here think?

foul play, shambles and everyone else thanks so much for replies.

it went away on its own. my fingertips still feel odd though.
oh anyways as for the pressure i always release the tourny.

basically ive read up on iv'n considerably and am very safe/clean. all thanks to the amazing resource we all have from this site. ive just never read about this. a couple of the responces seemed on the money with what i thought but i was pretty freaked n not thinking clear. thank you again guys

merry christmas everyone =)
have a fun, safe and great holiday!

Sounds like shitty dope to me. Either that or your tolerance is just really high, but since you're shooting you should be feeling something.

I smoked a 3rd bag and I definitely got rushes from smoking it so I really don't know why I'm not getting a rush from banging it. I just thought that if you miss a shot you KNOW it (from other users and from searching all over the net). Everyone says it hurts and forms a bubble and all and I haven't really had that.

When you say bubbles like a bubble in the syringe???

When i miss with the H or any opiate like oxy or diluadid i get a lump on the spot where i missed and it kind itches and i have to rub it down.

No I mean a small bubble at the injection site on my skin. The bubble has never itched nor been painful which makes me think I didn't miss but since I'm new to IVing myself I'm worried I have bad technique and the whole point of IVing for me was because I was wasting alot of money smoking bags when IVing is supposed to be less is more because it's direct.

If the odd feeling that is in your fingertips doesn't go away soon please do seek medical help! If it goes away on its own then great, but just be on the watch out.

You're very welcome! I hope you have a great Xmas too!

I'm going to merge this into the IV Complications Mega Thread because that's exactly where posts like this goes. We typically wait to merge it until you report back saying you feel better (it's the kind/humane thing to do) and then when you report back we'll merge it.

Good to hear you're doing better, and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

I dont IV but it sounds like youre probably missing and getting an IM shot, I would say it sounds like your dose is too small but the fact that you still get high means its not. Also im pretty sure youre not supposed to have a bubble at all but i dont know for sure.

could you explain these small bumps a little better? is there an actual visible lump that looks like some solution is built up under your skin? or is it just a raised bit of skin at the injection site where the tip has been inserted?

theres a heap of questions i could ask because you really havent explained the situation the best apart from small bubbles. which even has me thinking it might be histamine release, like puffed up area where you injected and what seems a rash

merging into IV thread.

nice username btw;) great movie, trainspotting.
