Injecting Temgesic

I was wondering if it is safe to IV Temgesic. Can you just use cotton as the filter? Does anyone know if the fillers in Temgesic is harmful? I did it and felt wonderful and extremely relaxed.

Just want to make sure it is safe.

:)

Using a cotton filter when injecting pills is seriously inadvisable. You should consider obtaining some micron filters if you're going to do this on even a semi-regular basis. Once or twice won't kill you, but over time the binders can accumulate in your body and cause some serious damage.

I'm down to my last 2 strips and getting next RX around the beginning of February. Been on them for a year straight so there might be some withdrawal. Anyway, I'm gonna IV the rest for maximum benefit and I was wondering if anybody knows how long it would be safe to keep a solution of sterile water and temgesic without benzyl alcohol? I only have 2 micron filters left and would prefer to use only one. I can't get benzyl alcohol anywhere.

I'm not from Australia, but Google led me to this thread. =)

Edit: I'll ask in ADD. If you have an answer it is welcome, otherwise ignore this. If a mod spots this, you are welcome to remove the whole thing.

^ I'm going to leave that there in case someone can contribute something useful. I'm not really up for research right now, but if you are starting with sterile water then it's going to be harder for bacteria to grow as opposed to non-sterile. If you keep it sealed, and keep it cool that will help inhibit bacterial growth. I don't know if there is a definitive answer to that question, but it would make an interesting science project.

If the solution AND its container are known to be sterile when sealed, then given that its air tight - it should be sterile indefinately, regardless of temerature.

I'm guessing you made the solution yourself, meaning it wont be 100% sterile so bacteria will be able to grow.

However, I see no problem with freezing the solution. Even if this changes the temgesic solubility, no big deal. Quick defrost and a shake and I cant see any reason why this wouldnt be safe..?

Any bacteria that can live in our body wont be able to deal with the freezer. But I havent studied Microbiology for a couple years so take that with a grain of salt :\

Are you talking about the sublingual tabs?
Each tablet contains 216 micrograms of buprenorphine hydrochloride (equivalent to 200 micrograms of
burpenorphine) as the active ingredient. The other ingredients in the tablet are: lactose, mannitol, maize starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, citric acid - anhydrous and sodium citrate.
from here

Yep micron filtering is a must here. A 0.8um filter should do the trick if you are getting the tabs straight from the blister. Don't use heat either - the maize starch will basically turn into gravy and you won't be able to filter shit.

I wouldn't be storing a pre-made solution more than a day or so in the fridge max. Unless you can get a 0.2um filter to refilter before injection (will remove bacteria/fungi).

If you can't get the filters then you could consider plugging - but it's not necessarily going to be much better than sublingual (except easier to get a bigger dose into you by that route).

Obviously it's safer just to stick the tabs under your tongue... be aware of increased OD risk if injecting/plugging. People have died from injecting buprenorphine - particularly when benzos already on board.
