I've read alot of posts where people say that you should not heat opiates/opioids (Even though people in the UK cook up H#3 in the UK to make it soluble), most seems to be from people in the US who get H#4 or are shooting pills.

What I'd like to know is how do you make your H sterile if you're shooting it cold? It sounds very dangerous to me.

Also the same goes for pills, how do you make/keep these sterile?

Thank you in advance!

Micron filters remove bacteria. Heating really doesn't do much in terms of killing bacteria. The only time I IVd pills I wiped them with alcohol first. As for H, I doubt it is handled much, and as a dry powder I'm not sure of how much bacteria can survive in it. Keeping everything clean and sterile while prepping shots helps a lot. Using a new needle, cleaning hands, wiping alcohol on the injection site, and micron filtering are all good ways to do this.

Outside of a medical context, you're never going to be able to achieve sterility but you can minimize risks/harms through what tommy said. You're absolutely right and injecting any substance IS dangerous even when people take a lot of steps to mitigate the risks which is why people around here regularly suggest other routes, proper technique and filtration if people are going to anyway and why advocating intravenous use to non-IDU's is not tolerated.

Specifically regarding your questions though, to actually kill bascteria using heat, you'd have to heat it until you've destroyed a good amount (or all) of the drug you desire. Holding a lighter below the drugs for a couple seconds might give the user a false sense of security but with most drugs/preparations, does more harm by melting insoluble cuts/binders/fillers into the shot without sterilizing anything.

You can kill some bacteria and viruses by heating for 10-30 seconds, just because it doesn't kill 100% of them doesn't mean it isn't worth doing. The reason not to heat it to avoid dissolving particles of cuts/fillers. To avoid this, either filter it cold, then heat it, or else heat it, then cool it completely, then filter it.

Using a micron filter and sterile or bacteriostatic water is the best way to greatly reduce the likelihood of bacterial contamination, as microns can filter out many (but again, not all) bacteria and possibly some viruses. If you aren't going to use one then I recommend the method I described above.

Heating is basically useless 'I held a lighter a few feet away for a few seconds and it's now sterile!' It's not sterile until pasteurised, which will destroy dope.
Stick to the tips mentioned above.

particulate "cotton fever" is a risk associated with heating pills/dope, filtering then shooting. once the solution has cooled in the barrel (or upon entering your bloodstream) the precipitated particles (fillers/binders, etc) are inevitably going to accumulate in the bodies organs. i'll take bacterial cotton fever over particulate infection any day of the week.

as cane said, heating leads to a false sense of security within the user. most opioids are highly water soluble, anyhow.

stick to - micron filtering when possible.
