SWIM was injecting heroin last night into their hand. I used a clean cooker, about a ml of sterile water, a clean needle and about a third of a stamp of heroin. I injected into the vein to the lower right of my index finger on my right hand on the top. I puled back on the plunger and saw blood and injected slowly and released the tourniquet. I didn't get an immediate rush like I normally did but within 5 minutes I was feeling the full effects and everything was dandy. About 2 hours latter I noticed the area I injected to is a little swollen and moderately painful to touch. Does anybody have any idea what this could be, or if I should be concerned?
Also sorry if this is in the wrong form its my first time posting.

First of all you're supposed to release the tourniquet before depressing the plunger, not after. Doing so after puts pressure on your vein and can cause leaks, swelling, other complications.

Sounds like you could have just missed a little. It doesn't take much to cause swelling. It should go down considerably in 24 hours. If it gets worse, seek medical attention.

hey, all you did was miss a little. It's because you didn't release your tie so even though you were in your vein, the heroin didnt have anywhere to go once it got to the tie so you missed the end of the shot. Try releasing ur tie next time.

partial miss or trauma caused from a botched injection i.d. severing a vein going to deep etc..

Also if you dont release the tie right away it can leak back into your hand.. veins in the heands are very thin with less circulaton then closer to the heart.
