Inhaling bacteria out of glass piece?

I just took a ghost hit out of it and now i have a small uncomfortable bump on my tongue. I think it happened the last time I hit out it. Could there be something in it that's causing an infection or something?

Bacteria could be in your bong, just like it could be anywhere in your house.

I Doubt theres bacteria that cause an infection that quick though.

Maybe the heat caused a blister? If you noticed it within minutes of hitting the pipe then i'd say it was caused by hot air. If not then i guess it's a possibility for some kind of bacteria or even a virus. Do a lot of different people smoke from your pipe? Oh and another possibility is that it's coincedence but you said it's happened one other time after hitting it. I know i've had bowls that were kinda too short and it would give me burns like a crack pipe (not that i know what that's like ).

Is it a cold sore? Those are viral (and not bacterial) infections that everyone gets anyway. Another thing it's likely to be is a burn from where the smoke hit your tongue. You come into contact with all sorts of bacteria every day. It's not very lilkely that pathogenic bugs could live for very long in the spit on your pipe - THC is a known antibacterial

LOL dude, the "small, uncomfortable bump" on your tongue is probably just one of your taste buds getting ready to "die", or fall off. It's a pretty common thing; I don't know why sometimes they get irritated and become like a hard little bump, but give it a day or two and it should be gone.

whenever anyone starts thinking that their pipe is harboring bacteria, then that person needs to recognize they are tweaking and should rest immediately.
