I posted a similar question on the drugs-forum, but never heard back, so hope no one minds if I ask here too.
I've been trying very low doses of Suboxone (0.125mg, 0.25mg), which usually involves cutting the strip up into tiny pieces. Generally, I will place one under the mid-section of my tongue, but was noticing it would disappear after a minute or two. Since I don't swallow during that period, I thought it might be getting pulled into the pool of saliva that usually collects. So I tried placing one under the very tip of my tongue, and kept my tongue raised, and it took about 15 minutes to absorb.
Today, for convenience's sake, I placed it between my lip and gum and watched that it took only about 2-3 minutes to dissolve.
I guess my questions are -- 1. Do different areas of the mouth have different absorption strengths? If it goes under the tip of my tongue, is that any different to the base?
2. Does amount of time before it dissolves make a difference? Does 2-3 minutes between the lip and teeth sound about right? When I left it for 15 minutes under my tongue-tip, I actually ended up feeling noticeably stoned, whereas other times it's been a lot more subtle.
I just see it disappear so quickly, then worry it didn't get absorbed or was swallowed by mistake, so sometimes end up taking another dose. It's a pain, since it takes like 90-120 minutes to know if it actually worked.
