Hi, Can someone tell me how long the worst part of withdrawl typically lasts...when used I.V.? I know its a very short halflife. I know this may sound trivial but it needs to be stopped taking for 1 week, starting today. Currently i take 24mg x3 a day. Was on methadone (not methadose) for 13 yrs..100mg once a day, for chronic pain, i am paralized and in wheelchair. The wd from that was HELL, so im wondering what i might be in for with this, and for how the worst part should last. There is a new script for gabbapentin to help. The goal is to restart,but to take orally as i tended. I can not afford to be taken off this med as it helps tremendously. Inhave always had a very high tollerance to analgesics. During methadone wd, i never puked or had bad diareah.

Ugh. When I seen this it almost made my body hurt just reading this. Coming off a hydros was the worse wds I've ever had. I had a neighbor who'd give them to me for free if I sold some for him. I was almost a month-2 binge and stopped cold turkey bc I was out of money and he went to jail. Mind you i'm 130lbs and 5' 10''. And at the time me and my sons mom were splitting up and I was at our home alone and having a Walking Dead marathon... Worst week of my life.
But your looking at probably 2-3 days of the max wd and it should start tapering from there, maybe more since your on such a high dose. The Gabs might help, I've never taken them for wds...
 
2 to 3 days, ko'd on gabba should help. Thanks for the info. The worst part of wd for me, from methadone was the sleeplessness...lasted well over a month!
 
Damnnn! Ya I feel ya on the sleeplessness but I've never had it that long! If u can man try get ahold of some benzos to chill you out and I've heard talking a lot of loperamide (like Imodium) I heard really helps with wds
 
I to came off methadone and it's not as intense as heroin or prescription pill withdrawal it lasts much longer. It was like 6-8 weeks before I could sleep again.
Anyway you are talking about dillies am I right? Your booting 3 8's three x a day ,you will be miserable the whole week. If you can take benzos for sleep do so but don't continue the use once you stop your abstinence. I think the op thinks you are talking about hydrocodone,which wds suck but coming off dilaudid will be more extreme. Can you use subs?
