I was recently told there were two types of speed. These were ephedrine based, like rock and ketone (?) which looked like brown sugar and had to be cut with glucose or could be fatal. Ketone was apparantly stonger but didn't burn much when snorted when all other speed I've had has burnt like hell and made my eyes water. I was also told that pure speed was meant to have no taste but everything I've had has tasted rank. Was this guy full of shit or is there some truth behind his rambling?
 
the speed you've had was probably crank. Low grade amphetamine... The shit that burned your nose was probably cut to high hell... otherwise it wasn't speed. Personally I'd start lookin for shard. Nothin wrong with crank... but shard is much more potent... and easier for me to fiind anyway.
Anyone else got any insight?

Methamphetamine HCl is methamphetamine HCl, however, there are a number of ways you can make it... probably the most common clandestine route is with ephedrine, as you only need to reduce it to meth (reduce = add a hydrogen) .. the end product is D-Meth HCl (the D identifies the Dextro isomer) .. now you can also use other chemicals to make meth, and some of these routes do NOT involved ephedrine - for instance, phenyl-2-propanone and methylamine can yeild meth, however it's not D-Meth, but rather D,L-Meth HCl (the L represents the Levo isomer, which is less-active then the Dextro isomer, this type of meth is half/half, or recemic, and is less potent then straight D-meth) .. you start with a ketone and end up with an amine..

Yup, that's total bullshit. Don't know exactly what pure meth tastes like, but it's not strong... I don't really notice it. You're probably tasting nasty chemicals from a shitty manufacturing/purification process.
 
hey Phreex, just recently got a hold of some ketone speed (i think). A couple of questions...
1. Does speed synthed from a ketone react to a marquis reagent (eg E1) or would it have no result? Obviously if it's not an amphetamine it won't react.. but.. eh! I'm not chemically minded.. explain :) !
2. Are there any noticeable differences in the physical effects of 'keytone speed'. User reports that it feels like "nothing". I've been smoking the stuff (thinking it was amphetamine) and haven't experienced any major rushes, just overall feeling of wellbeing and general awakedness for a good 8 hours after one hit.
I notice that you say the L isomer is less potent than the D, would this be responsible for the speed not feeling as 'strong' as it should?
3. What are the most commonly found products that one would synth ketone speed from. Acetone? General solvents?

ive found if you dont give a shit about the chemistry the best meth test is to burn it on some foil, if theres a black residue, its gonna taste bad, if it burns away clean, its not gonna taste as bad.
just an observation....
