Chair.
You breathe in, I exhale and choke.
Swallow, my dear: now, explain my indigestion.

Fibers solid, webwork inconclusive,
look at this detective here, lost in the dark.
Regardless, here I lay, bursting at the seams,
pop or implode, flip the quarter.

I inhale, can't summon fourth a sigh
out my own lips or through entanglement
and so I agonize in expansion,
ever-wound in exponentially rising complexities.

I and Other mix and mingle
till I just don't know what's my own anymore,
though I suppose, in a way,
anything I happen to hold becomes.

If you can infect me, I can affect you.
Is there hope for resuscitation here?
Self-interest is altruistic, can't you see?

Distinctions blur in my world.

This graying landscape infects my eyes,
perhaps I should dedicate my psychological surplus
to building a wall around myself, bricks of resistance
to defend the over-sensitive sponge,
and in the meantime,
medicate in my desperation.

Must look away from this,
as there's no hope for healing
unless I can manage to

buy some time, rent some space
to generate my own light.
Escapism may have survival value.
A trade may be in order here.

My kingdom of cards bridged atop a faultline
for a solid rock on an unbroken and sustained plateau.

whoa, this reminds me of my older poetry a lot. kind of scientific-meets-spiritual logic... existentialist mysticism... keep spouting the truth.

I like this a lot, for much the reasons ControlDenied outlines. Reminds me of the metaphysical poets. I like the use of science in poetry. And poetry in science. :)

Science is almost too metaphorical.

metaphor
1533, from M.Fr. metaphore, from L. metaphora, from Gk. metaphora "a transfer," especially of the sense of one word to a different word, lit. "a carrying over," from metapherein "transfer, carry over," from meta- "over, across" (see meta-) + pherein "to carry, bear"

All truths are one. The territory is never changed just because the map is. Just new rulers, new followers, new line drawers.

Mr rocky123, I must wonder: is this spam, sarcasm, or a display of your total incapability to comprehend a metaphor? ... I think I smell canned meat product.
