Increasing metabolism with food

Im not sure if there are any that can increase your metabolic rate overall... (someone correct me if Im wrong)

Ive heard eating cabbage is supposed to actually burn calories, because it takes more energy to digest it than calories it contains...but Im not really sure how true this is.

Ive heard that too. Something about the hot foods needing an increased amount of energy to digest. There are a lot of benefits to eating spicy food, and its tasty too!

If spicy foods increase metabolism it isnt doing a damn thing for me. lol :) All I eat are spicy things.

Im not sure if a specific food can increase it, But I know fequently snacking on healthy foods that are easy to digest(like fruit, veggies etc) can increase it.

:)

i heard that munching on some ice cubes is good. its not food but its makes sense.. your body has to use energy to melt the ice... *shrugs* :)

from what ive read there arent any specidic foods to make your metabolism increse. expect just eatting more, at the same time u need to exercise also. or if u want to slow it down eat less.

Eat about 6-7 small meals a day. This will increase your metabolism a lot... I don't think there is any specific food that increases it. I do know that green tea does though.

The best thing to increase your metabolism is lifting weight. This is by far the best way.

Be lethargic! Maybe add another rest day or two a week to your current routine...

I have the same problem though I cannot slow my metabolism down for anything- if I have a couple of days where I dont REALLY concentrate on eating enough then I lose weight. For example I lost 7lbs between March and May due to uni commitments and me focusing more on work than diet. Im trying to put on weight now though so I just stuff my face.

I think water increases metabolism...it contains 0 calories...and if you drink enough of it...eventually it just makes you pee clear. So...well...that means it's pretty much just circulating clear through your system. I dunno if it's "increasing metabolism"...but...I'm also rather confused as to what "metabolism" means...the rate at which you burn calories?

I usually think of metabolism as like...hmm...well, ok, I guess rate overall. Like heartbeat/breathing/eating/pissing/shitting...sleeping...

I don't think any food really increases heartbeat much, at least not that I've noticed.
