Opioids In your subjective opinion, which opiates are more or less sedating?

Opiates in general are more sedating....especially at high doses, they all give you the nod or worse. Still, Oxycodone is widely considered to be less sedating and more stimulating when compared to Morphine or Hydrocodone. I know that I subjectively feel more alert on a moderate dose of oxycodone than I do on a moderate dose of morphine.


So the question is this....What opiates would you say are the most sedating, which opiates (along with oxycodone) do you find to be a little 'edgier' or more stimulating at smaller to moderate doses, and which ones would you rate as somewhere in between?


I believe this question is relevant to harm reduction because studying the subjective response to drugs may help us understand the differences in how drugs affect people....such as being aware that you would get the nod on morphine sooner than you would on oxy might be useful in evaluating how high somebody is based on how they are talking or describing their own state...


If you like, you may also create a grading scale between the opiates you are familiar with, or you can clump them together into basic categories.
 
I get the most sedating effects or 'nod' from and IV shot of heroin, more so than any other opiate that I have tried.
I find that my bupe script gives me a nice lift, not a high nor sedating, but an jumpy type of energy, for instance I have my doses set so that my night does is taken right before the start of work, because it gives me alot of energy to help cope with the night.
As far as least sedating, I'd have to say hydro/oxy, they got me high, just never nodded...
 
Opiates/opiods to me are way more stimulating rather than sedating. If I take any form of Oppies I'll get great energy... To do anything... Work or play. If I take oppies before bed I'll be up all night.

If I take Adderral before bed... I'll sleep like a baby. No idea why.

That has happend to me before as well, never in IV form though, but with pills. I remember going to work in w/ds in order to meet one of my connects who was already there, I felt like shit till the oxys kicked in, then I had the most energy that I had ever had at work, I think it was because I played it up in my mind, I was so happy to get the meds and stop the w/ds that it just stimulated me. My boss even asked what my problem was and why I was running around doing so much work, when 20 mins ago, I was hiding in the bathroom stall pretending to take a shit=D
