In the new year

I will......................................................

2008 just
left so many things unsaid
left so many things undone

and not enough to look back on
nothing to wipe off the list
nothing to add to the list

no resolutions only resurrections of forgotten ideals
now bubbling to the surface again
with a little foresight i see another year gone by
and another empty list

then a fleeting thought of an epitaph
"he was"
maybe if the intention had been to live the life of a buddhist
this would be ok

only this isnt a buddhists life
its another quarter life pseudo crisis
that lasts a while until another year is gone and here i am again
year after year

if this was a buddhists life
the only epitaph i would be happy with would read
"and he broke samsara"
that is all

end the unforgiving repetitive cycle
end it
