Whatup Wizards!

I'm an international student doing a master's degree in animation. I've been here in Melbourne (AU) for a bit more of 30 days and I'm already in loved with it. I've had lots of adventures, met amazing and crazy people and found the most beautiful places while I was lost.

I'm really into psychedelic stuff, (lsd, shrooms and sativa of course) it has taken me to incredible dimensions and showed me the most unbelievable scenes. Simply love it.

Everything it's been awesome so far, but I haven't felt the smells yet. I'd like to know if you guys could explain me how it works in this city, where/how could I get good lsd blotters or shrooms (and marijuana for sure)? What about prices? etc. Also, with no family or friends here it'd be great if any of you would like to hang out and have fun, feel free to PM me or whatever you do on this site.

That'll be it, stay awesome,

Good trip.

Hello AdrianTheBarbarian - welcome to Bluelight!

What type of career are you looking to have with your degree? Concept art? Character design?

Oh you'd love Psychedelic Drugs as well as Psychedelic Medicine. The latter is all about research showing how psychedelics can improve the quality of life.

In regards to finding drugs.. I'm sorry, but we can not help you with that. And mentioning prices is not allowed either. Please refrain from further talking about meeting up for the purpose of obtaining drugs. Finding friends is all fine and good, but when you mention it so closely to your other idea of finding drugs it looks like a sketchy animation ;)

Peace my friend, and enjoy your time on Bluelight and in AU!

Welcome AdrianTheBarbarian !

Yeah, we assume you already have your drugs in your hand already here at Bluelight. Everyone buys, just not here ;)

I'm sure we'll run into each other in the forums Madness mentioned as that's my focus as well. Enjoy your stay here and stay swirly .

@madness00 @White_Rose

Thank you so much for your feedback! And I truly apologize, it was my bad. Thank you for being so polite and don't kick me out of the forum immediately.

I've been working as a professional freelance illustrator for 6 years now. Among my clients you'll find Blizzard Entertainment, Minecraft, musicians such as Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein and Andre W.K. It was due to cartoons that decided to dedicate my life to art, so what I'm planning to do is to produce an animated short that I've been working on during the last 5 years and pitch it to a well known cartoons producer.

Hey, it's no problem Adrian. Glad to have you on board.

BTW, I am also in (and out) the industry. My first job in video games was in 1978 when I was hired at Midway to work on some of their coin-op titles. Everything was cool until the Video Game crash of the 80's when I was recruited by an engineering firm to write software for building automation, which led to me being transferred to their Patient Monitoring/Telemetry and eventually to the Medical Imaging section where I designed Nuclear Camera / MRI software. I never lost contact with my colleagues and worked on projects on a "contracting" basis on a few AAA titles during the remaining 2D days. My work with Medical Imaging devices was very helpful when the industry decided to go 3D and I released some free indie games during the 90's using the Genesis 3D engine. In the early days I was conracted to do some programming using the then new Unreal Engine and liked the way it was engineered (the API interface) so much that I stayed with that engine as my "area of expertise" and feel most comfortable using it.

I am still involved with games, mostly as a Technical Artist. My passion is shaders and special effects, although I have worn just about every "hat" in a Dev Team at one time or another. At present I'm working on a solo indie game utilizing the Unreal Engine. I spend some days coding, others doing the 3D models or texturing. In fact I spent my downtime when Bluelight changed software porting my project from version 4.20 to 4.22 so my project is now compliant with support for NVIDIA raytracing, both on the RTX cards(now) and the upper tier 10xx series (when the new drivers are released.)

Well enough shop talk, don't be a stranger to Bluelight ;)

Wow dude! Thank you so much for sharing all this with me, you must have really good stories to tell. I'd be awesome to see your work. I always like when people, specially fellow colleagues, are so passionate about what they do., I find it very encouraging.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to write this, I really appreciate it.

animation as in anime? I love anime but i just don't find the time to watch all my favourites, even my favourite list isn't nearly complete yet : /

welcome and don't ask for sources or connections.

@AdrianTheBarbarian

How are you finding things? Have you found our regional forums? Specifically the Australasian Drug Discussion (AusDD) to perhaps find like minded friends in the Melbourne area? I also note you say you are an Int'l student just arriving to Melbourne...where from you hail? Your accent is a bit tough to decipher in text ;)

You've got quite the resume (and username). Any ideas on what direction you intend to take the career next? You mention the short you're working on (any chance to post some of it to youtube and link us?). What do you hope that leads to?
