Thats insane even thinking that!
addicts never have will power to say no and if they did i dont think you would have ever been an addict. i hope that makes since.
As we've seen here in this thread and the many other benzo threads, everyone who has an opinion on benzos is usually quite stuck in their view of it.
The main issue here is- Will you abuse it?
Only you can answer that b/c you know yourself better than anyone else.
But before you jump into taking benzos everyday, be honest with yourself.
Take a good look at your situation and try to be objective.
If you think there is even a slight chance that you might take more than you are prescribed, I would say look for other alternatives.

Thank you for all the responses so far, particularly mariposa. I always appreciate how kinda and well-thought out your posts are
I'm not going to be seeing a psychiatrist for a few weeks, but I will definitely be honest about my use, mainly cause I already have been when they did the assessment. I do NOT want to fall back into the cycle of addiction, so if the professional says that it's not a good idea, I will try something else. If I try a few treatments that don't work, however, I will definitely ask the doctor to re-evaluate the benefits.

why? why are these the main issues? i don't understand where you get off thinking that if you stick to whatever amount you are prescribed (which is arbitrary) you will somehow be able to avoid the damage that long term benzos often causes. especially considering prescribed benzo vary widely.
let me pose this question. who is likely to have more long term side effects and a more difficult time withdrawing? person A who takes 6 mg of clonazepam per day, every day, as prescribed, never abuses it. or person B, who is prescribed 1 mg of clonazepam per day but occasionally will abuse it and take 2 or 3 mgs for the buzz?
so, why again is whether you can stick to the prescribed dose the the determining factor here? it's not like if someone takes 2 mg of xanax a day every day they will be fine but problems start as soon as they take 2.5 mg. no, it's not like that at all.
