[indy promoters: good job! keep doing what you do! ]

Also, I had some further thoughts on all this^ .....
Ok, so I guess what I'm saying to be specific is: [ at this particular time....If I was a weatherman/woman-of-Electronic-dance-music-culture-manifestation and i was making judgments and analyzations about the EDM-Culture scene [Rave Scene] (as in to set the genre part of it aside) I would say that the Current Best Manifestation of Electronic Dance Music Scene ( which does include the music) wass going to occur at the Mousetrap and is / was Way Worth it ! Also, regarding the other locals putting on shows: First, we are all pouring our heart and souls into everything we do so unfortunately the pouring of heart and soul into their event isn’t a factor in my analyzation of the overall scene....Second..Chances are high that I've even given praise to these other nights at one time or another because I felt as though they were throwing good shows and guess what WHEN THEY GET THEIR NIGHTS POPPING OFF AGAIN I 'LL BE BACK IN THE HABIT OF GIVING A DIFFERENT OPINION. Props to them for doing what they do. It was a general statement, I didn’t mention anyone specifically. I'm just being hyped about what i say .....its a little bravado....added...sorry it came across like i wanted to "shit" on their hard work....But if I'm not into it anymore, im just not and how i feel about that is just my opinion which I post on here with a bunch of other people's opinions.......& I'll admit I don’t have all the info, I haven’t been to every EDM night in Indy......but I AM NOT CNN > I DON’T HAVE TO HAVE THAT KIND OF ACCOUNTABILITY WHEN IT COMES TO MERE OPINION. SO: they shouldn’t feel all bad cause its just one persons opinion out of many.
& Speaking of opinion , what this is all about....as far as my typing out my immediate opinions of things in general then it Not Being My Cup Of Tea very much EXACTLY makes it not
worth a shit!! :::: [ to me] = the person who's opinion it is. It's not a fact, its a feeling. I still appreciate their efforts and I'm sure to go to their shows and give them my support at one point or another......
And actually with an Electronic Dance Music scene functioning as it should be..... my statement was aimed quite exactly at unifying the scene....unifying it together at The Mousetrap. Or at least that was the idea.....sorry it upset you.
Thank You for your time....

i can't be arsed to wade through the part i actually want to quote, but for nights to go popping off, they, you know, involve people showing up. people don't just appear out of nowhere unless you're david copperfield.

^ Quite Correct.

Indymojo.com and G-9 Collective are very excited about this edition of Altered Thurzdaze...

James Brooks and Ami Webb are tying the proverbial knot, and we're helping them celebrate with a heavy dose of bass and good vibes as they usher in a new chapter of their lives!

Special Guests:

Dr. Higgens
Seattle, WA
L Records

Scott, aka Dr Higgens, was a sponge-like child, pursuing the hows and whats of the world around him. Raised by a sea dog and a shutterbug, he was always encouraged to define the beat in his own heart. Adolescent Scott unexpectedly found his groove in a pair of headphones one otherwise negligible night out in Portland, and this beat has remained solid and true through his adventures in art school and a career defined by digital animation and design. Armed with a Masters Certificate in Music Production and Technology from Berklee School of Music, Scott has recently returned to the great green Northwest after several years in Southern California, now having the pleasure of calling Seattle his home.

James B. (Groom-to-be)
Just 3 White Guys

James B can be named among one of the most versatile DJ's in Indy. Breaks, trance, progressive, or house…you name it James B will be sure to please! He is a seasoned veteran, who has been moving the dance floors since 2001. You will occasionally see him sharing the wheels-of-steel as one member of the group Just 3 White Guys…3 DJ’s that use 4-6 turntables, 2-3 mixers, multi genre music, fantastic turntablism along with occasional electric guitar samples and solos.

Whether James B is seen displaying his skills and mixing sounds alone or with Just 3 White Guys…It is not to be missed. One question that is usually asked before he plays his solo sets: "Will it be breaks or trance?" James B always replies with: "I don't know…Let's just see what happens! Enjoy!"

Gizzmo (Birthday Boy!)
SUBterror

After emerging from the comet that brought him to earth Gizzmo found a pair of turntables. Little did the people of Earth know that their world had changed. From that point on he proceeded to tackle any form of decent electronic music (i.e. NO TRANCE) and perfect the mixing of it. He can be found anywhere there are Subarus racing or Beats bumping. DO NOT get him wet and DO NOT feed him after midnight. We also don't suggest making eye to eye contact with him while he's playing as the energy coming from his brain may reduce you to a pile of dust.

Hot Mess

http://www.facebook.com/WeAreAHotMess

The combined efforts of Keith Swet and Vacate have been hard to miss over the past year. From featured releases on Beatport to demolishing floors up and down the coast. They have shared the stage with many of dubstep's heavyweights and have had their work rinsed by many of the same. Their remix of Blu Mar Ten's "Believe Me" has been receiving worldwide praise. Poised to unleash a slew of new tracks to end 2010, including their new EP entitled 'Party Animal'... It will be hard to go a single night without getting a little messy.

8 Strings/2 Wheels
Chicago/Indy

A new Indianapolis based duo featuring Ryan Hickey (aka DJ Helicon) and Robert Coates in and improvisatory, experimental setting that explores elements of trance, funk, hip-hop, jazz, world music and much more.

Both artists have performed extensively in the United States in various projects, and now as a duo they offer a fresh approach to dance-electronica. Turntables and computer software supply libraries of beats and sounds, while an 8-string guitar supplies bass, harmony, and melodic support to the groove. The organic result is a fusion of digital and analog realms and a collision of style and genre.

PERFORMANCES

Coates (of EN2) and Helicon (formerly of the Mudkids and co-founder of Oranje) have performed at various clubs, concerts, festivals, fashion shows, parties, art openings, and corporate events in CA, WA, CO, ID, OR, UT, IN, IL, MI, TN, KY, GA, NC, VA, NY, OH, MI, MO, WY, WI.
