which leads them to dismiss bluelight discussions as a bunch of assholes trashing everybody and everything for the sake of being know-it-alls.
But . . . the only people who read Bluefight
are the know-it-all assholes.
But in all seriosness, how many people there do you think actually reads Bluelight? That said, there does need to be an Indy board where there is promotion of events that's not tied to a drug-board. Others have mentioned this; maybe it's time we consider it?
(besides the drumming of Meltdown which I will never be a fan of)
I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels this way.
I've more to say -- and far more positive -- but since this was brought up.
I really wish that Joe would get together with a DJ and iron out a performance. (Matt, are you down?) That way, said DJ can just drop a simple beat, maybe loop it for however long, and let Joe Meltdown go to town ala Sheila E. That's what needs to happen.
Not pounding on the drums during a tribal-y track -- Hey, it's in there.
Not doing that open-hi-hate
(intentional) nonsense -- Hey, it's in there.
And certainly not posing like he done did something and added something to a track when -- Hey, it's in there.
God dammit, Joe Meltdown
For real.
Now, I'm all for adding live instrumentals to a dj performance. Slappinfunk and Squarepusher playing the live bass . . . awesome; K-Step knocking out the live guitar thrash . . . schweet; Kenny Sutton and his live keyboardist, Gene Ferris and his live saxophone, and yes, even Translucent with his trumpet . . . ? Dude, I'm all for it.
But it's gotta make sense.
It's gotta add something that's, well . . . not already there. Imagine a Dj playing Andy Funk's
"Sax Jammin" and then having a saxophonist playing the sax at the same time. B A L D E R D A S H ! ! !
I would love for Joe to get with a DJ to create a performance of some sort whereby his drumming is planned. Hell, maybe Joe should start DJing?! Then he could at least understand that what he is doing, adding elements that are already in the flippin' track, is simply silly.
And annoying.
And he was off to the side, again.
Which is annoying.
So . . . yeah . . . I'm done.
I had fun and have more to say about how much fun I had, later.
