You guys R doin good.

That would involve employing an additional person to check wristbands when they were already shorthanded on help, it doesn't make any sense to me to have a price difference between the two floors when there are headlining DJs from out of state playing in both rooms, and it would also require the door person to ask everyone which price they were paying - which would inevitably draw further questions from patrons about who was playing in which room and why one costs more than the other. Most importantly, I highly doubt that needlessly complicating the pricing scheme would have drawn a bigger crowd or generated any additional revenue to cover the cost of the event.

Sets:

Johnny Utah
Manic & Dave Owen

*Much love and all due respect 2Promoters/staff etc.*
With what appeared to be a surplus of "staff/security"it seems feasible that one of them could have stood on the landing and through the utilization of a black light and fluorescent wristbands easily separated the two, given one wouldn't require wristbands for the first floor. This concept of 2 prices is no different than this price till this time etc.. One could put it on the flyer. Its just an idea; if revenue becomes an issue.......with bars as Electronic Dance Music venues, it generally does. It significantly increases ones chances of getting "all" the $ from the people who didn't plan on going and gets the most out of those who will come no matter what.
Ok, I know this is an outside perspective but I feel confident that (not necessarily this1) concepts such as these will help the turnout/revenue. Why use the same formula time and time again for the same results ? Its like a lateral in FOOTBALL,
its not often used but it is an example of how a goofy play can sometimes be effective.

You're definitely going to have to break down "scientifically" how charging two different prices is going to coerce more people into coming to this show.

....READY....2rockBRINGit

Ya know, yall are a funny bunch.
For Djs and promoters youre sure not doing much in the "thinking" department on how to get big bunches of people to your shows...( at least not on here).....or....for that matter try and develop a scene of core individuals who will come out and pump their fists to your beats at least once if not twice a week.............Oh, Jeez, I'm sorry maybe you dont want that. Of Course you dont ! This is the Indy scene and though the names have changed things are oh soooo the same. As the size of the scene increases your level of importance diminishes ? - is that what is scaring you ? - it is true, how bout : In a scene like this the most important role is the role of the DJ, but only because DJs represent your FUCKING AUDIENCE ! - in a real scene the most important thing is.....the people in it, the ravers, "spectators" audience etc.....how many of us started as Djs / promoters ?.......we were all " Event-goers" at one time that is what should be keeping this going ....I suggest if you are interested in gathering people to come to your events or just playing edm events period and you are NOT INTERESTING IN MAKING IT ANY MORE COMPLICATED THEN: Find yourself a nice house and have a house party and do away with all the worry about people paying you at the door and how many on the counter etc....and JUST ENJOY BEING A DJ AND ENJOY PROMOTING ELECTRONIC MUSIC AND PLAYING IT TO PEOPLE WHO DIDNT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE SAME WORRIES TIME AND TIME AGIAN JUST TO DANCE AND GET RIPPED
THANK YOU = )

cutemoon, my point was that what you think would happen is going to need backed up before any promoters in this city take you seriously. Everyone in Indy thinks they know how to make it work, but in reality, few have the willpower to put up with the BS that goes along with it. If you make sweeping generalizations about why people don't come out, then I would hope that at some point you'll introduce yourself to the rest of us so we can have a conversation about this exact point, but for now you're another critical, anonymous voice on the internet and I think we all can agree that no one needs any more of that. There are plenty of people willing to take risks in this city and will open their ears to some new ideas, but you can't pretend like anyone gives a crap on BL.

Honestly, looking back just a year, I'd like to think Indianapolis is doing a very good job of breathing air into the "scene" again.

if there were more ellipses in these recent threads i d swear jimmy journey was re-incarnated as a female....

I love OUR scene, & all it encompasses* that is my end all be all motivation.
Thank you-

sincerely yours
