IN, Indianapolis - 06.18.05 Saturday - DJ Sneak *REVIEW*

The night was still a good one. But I gotta agree that it wasn't cool that the "special people" were the only ones that were allowed to dance. Especially if their gonna make fun of the regulars. (DMF) That guy is there every week and he's the only one dancing. So for ppl to show up one day a year and think they can own the dancefloor is silly. I wasn't really impressed with the dancing anyway. I've seen MUCH BETTER. DMF being one of them.

I had a great time. Maybe you all are just used to having a 10 foot radius for wicked glowstick action, but I thought everyone had enough room to dance. I'll be back for the next party.

First off Slater, bad ass show. Never heard or heard of sneak until tonight, fucking awsome. Local talent kicked ass, as usual too. The only problem I saw was the same problems at every party I've been to, haters. No one inparticular, geekster! Why is it when someone such as myself goes out and tries to have a good time, someone has to attempt to make them feel bad. I've been in the scene since 95', and naptown could be so much better if it was not for hater ass motherfuckers like geekster, who can only talk a bunch of shit and not do shit. That's why his parties suck and no one cares if he dies in a flaming inferno. Fuck him, and only him. Nothing but love for the world, but he is not part of the human race. He is a hater ass bitch who hides behind certain walls that protect his bitch ass, from really getting hurt! Like I said great party Slater, do it again soon. I'll be there on Thursday, like usual. Thanks again for making me dance in Naptown!!!!!!!!!

i was addressing the fact that hardly anyone could move, literally. --but then again, guys like me use more space. had to keep a cig lit just so i could have some breathing room. glowsticks themselves are silly...

but i'll still come back when i'm in the midwest.%)

agreed...

people you're in a club

a NIGHTCLUB

this isn't some "everybody free all hold hands
peace love unity respect" rave that we all
remember... clubs have VIPs... that's the allure
of clubs for some... and no one would have
complained if all the complainers had forked
over the money to actually be IN the VIP...
in fact, if they did, and then they opened up
the VIP, they'd bitch about that...

that's clubland, guys... VIPs are as part of
it as the "to the front of the line"/guestlist
folks were for raves. and i KNOW you
bitches loved that. ;)

here's a way to optimize a dancefloor

STOP FUCKIN' AROUND WITH BREAK CIRCLES

it's fuckin' ridiculous that a space no bigger
than my house and someone's gotta try
and impress (notice i said try) with a
fuckin' break circle.... gimme a break.

next time that happens, me and my girls
are gonna just freak in the middle of it...
that shit is ridiculous.

glad you mentioned that, first. :)

::EDIT:: oh, i use the term "bitch" loosely... so far
no one's really 'bitching' bitching, rather they are voicing
their opinions/concerns... just wanted to let everyone
know that i see the distinction and that, so far, no
one has been bitching in the literal use of the slang... :)

funniest things heard from complete busters on saturday....

OK...I know that some people just don't have a clue. Heres two..

1st guy....definately foreign...comes up to me and ask If I would play "its time for the percolator" I looked at my wife and busted up laughing, looked back and said "WHAT?" The he repeated himself, and started singing it as if I thought he was making up the song and I havent heard of it. he was also standing in front of my gear where it says VJ on it....I looked back laughing and yelled beat it at the guy and that I wasnt doing the music...Thats tool #1

TOOL 2......white, walks up and I think "is this guy trying to look like matchbox 20?" he clearly wasnt but you could tell he was going through an identity crisis or somethin'. Then he asks if I have ROB THOMAS-Dont want to be lonely no more?" or whatever its called. I was laughing so hard I couldnt hear the rest..go on..Buster....... with a capital B.

i talk shit and dont do shit? really.... hmm thats funny... so i havent invested well over 10k this past year of my own money in throwing events? i didnt more or less donate my sound to fusion every week this fall? i havent invested countless hours doing bookings and finding venues for ppl to dance in?

before leveling those allegations at me, you should probably ask the people who attend and play my events. each and every time that my crew and i have done an event in the last year, we have gotten a great response from the crowd. NoLaughingMatter had 400 ppl packed in a sweaty ass venue dancing until 6 in the morning. who else in the fucking state has done that recently?

im sorry DumbMuthaFucka was dancing like a fucking monkey and got clowned on pretty hard, but thats what happens when ppl are 35, go out in public in a red tshirt and ufos, and then proceed to throw their spirit fingers in my face all night. if he would have had glowsticks, i would have thrown them like at talbot st.

as for the break circle, well it happens, and a few of those kids had skill, but it was nice to see dmf get laughed out of it.....

and to the claim that special ppl clowned on dmf too hard, well the reason why i am special and not a regular is because i have this thing called class that impairs my ability to come out of my cave too often, but now that summer classes are almost over, be prepared for my evilness to resume....

slater, are we back to trading shots of jager and petron?

i figured most on here would not appreciate the night. vapour is not underground enough for some of you. i can respect that. but on the other hand they are offering a free weekly event with no dress code and open vip section. the $60 bottles of stoli mean you can drink for pretty fuckin cheap if you come in with a couple friends.

we can throw free thrusday and $ 5 dj sneak shows because we get sponsor dollars to pay for the event. the club still makes it's loot on the drinks, but unlike most clubs, the keep the cover low and don't get greedy with it. i asked them to do the shows for as cheap as possible and they agree to it.

you basically have a club that is just getting started in the dance community and they haven't learned all the little things it takes to make you guys happy. i personally appreciate the fact that they let us do the shows there.

the drinks are a bit expensive compared to broad ripple or the downtown strip, but who would really want to be in one of those clubs anyway. for those that were there early i hope you took part in the free bud products we were passing out. i think we gave out 3 cases before 11pm.

thursday the vip is open to all which is a step in the right direction. the club has done nothing but try to accomodate us, and they have continued to tweek each night to try and make this scene happy.

vip was actually sold out with a 4 table wait list. it looked empty becaue they were proably down on the floor.

once again i respect everyone's opinion. our upcoming shows include johnny fiasco , stacy kidd, and mark farina. once dates get confirmed i will post them. for those that choose not to come due to the venue, i at least thank you for giving it a shot. to everyone else that continually supports us every week, RESPECT. you are the reason these parties can continue to happen, and i will do my best to offer you the best party experience we can.

keep it house

i think he also is the guy that
threatened a friend of mine
with the obligatory "i work
here... i can have you kicked
out" or summat....

white ufo's right?

tsk tsk tsk

that's some hit hat heat right there!

that was spirit fingers in the white ufos...

once again this was a dope event, and much props to slater and the club.

i just want to run a number by everyone.... 150 bucks for a vip bottle, and 100 were sold.... that is 15k that was brought in by the vip section to help pay for sneak, so the rest of poor fucks only had to pay $5 plus our liquor costs.

This was a great party. First time seeing DJ Sneak. Loved it. Lots of nice people. I just hope i wasnt a drag to anyone. Great time. Everyone seeemed really cool. Well maybe not every single person, but for the most part, a good crowd. Not much room to dance, but i'm not gonna complain, i at least wasnt elbow to elbow. was at least posible to move from one side to the other. I thought DJ sneak played one of the best sets i've heard in a long time. and for only $5...... Love my family. Thanks to everyone involved with the event. loved seeing so many people i havent seen in a while. it made it great

Just wanted to add, that I had one of the best times of my life. From the workers to the people putting on the event to the crowd, I just felt like I was in the best spot in the world. And I appreciate the thoughtfulness of alot of people there. Just felt like there were a mixture of qualities that reminded me of the best raves, afterparties, and clubs i ever been to.

Hopefully all this drama doesn't keep people from coming out on Thurs. nights. There is A LOT less ppl, and VIP is usually opened up for anyone to go up there and have a drink. But as much as ppl talk shit about the prices on drinks, like Slater said u get 6 ppl throw 10 bux, and your in. Got some hot waits bringin u mixed drinks etc. for 10 bux. Plus a tip if ur not a cheap bastard :P. If you love the music, and you enjoy being in the company of some nice people try and make it out one Thurs. you probably won't be dissapointed. UNLESS you like being elbow to elbow... then maybe not. I DON'T!!! =D

Good Times

MARK FARINA!!
