im losing my mind. i need to see a dr and be prescribed a long acting benzo. i called every single fucking psychiatrist that was listed with my insurance provider and they all need referrals. i got two referrals from my pcp and only one is covered. IM DIRT POOR.

so if this dude does not take me immediately im fucked. can i just get another pcp or is that not allowed? i mean can i just see another pcp without changing him to my pcp? i need help NOW. i cant wait any longer. fuck.

Why don't you go see a normal GP and pay cash? I can see quite a few doctors around here for ~$50

You can always buy them online as well, but admittedly that isn't quite affordable.

Sure, you'll get billed, but so what? I've got tons of hospital debts, up into the thousands of dollars. Guess what? They don't affect your credit. They know no one without insurance can afford their kind of costs. All you'll have to pay for is the script.

Good luck. Better yet: Make it happen.

Bullshit.

I have medical debt from ER visits and I can assure you it *DOES* effect your credit

Not mine. No collectors, no debt, no nothing. Of course, if I have to I'll play the homeless indigent without a name and ask for SSI assistance. Why would I do otherwise? How can it affect your credit if you have none, if you're a homeless transient? As an addict, I say and show whatever it takes to get what I need. Manipulation, Deception, Invention, Improvisation...these are the tools of the trade.

well, there should be no problem but there is. i only have 1 valid referral that will be covered and i dont know if i will be able to see him. i guess ill just call my pcp back and say i need more referrals, hehe.

i could go to the hospital but i dont know. ideally, i will talk to my suboxone dr tomorrow. i will just be honest(not too honest) and tell her i cant see a shrink. tell her i take .5mg klonopin BID and that i cant get off the lyrica without it. the key is saying that you are already prescribed it. once they know youve already been on it they feel the liability falls onto the orginal dr that scripted it.

thing is im not trying to play anyone. i left that lifestyle a year ago. if it comes down to it i will play that game though. i have a valid fucking distress and i have already been scripted a medication that works. the problem is asking the dr that scripts me shit for being a heroin addict to script something addictive. she alreday knows im on lyrica and that is C-V.

if i can convey to her the urgency, she knows im stable(i can provide a piss test and im TOTALLY FUCKING CLEAN), and fuck....i dont want to overthink this. im just going to do what feels right.

don't overthink it. you will be fine.
almost any doctor will write for someone with a legitimate history of anxiety in an emergency/ urgent situation. Just let her know you HAVE made contact with the one shrink you got a referral to and that you do have an appt. scheduled. If you express a desire to get off the Lyrica, he/she will be more than happy to do it as most doctors are aware of the bad side-effects and grey area marketing of Lyrica. Just don't expect to keep getting Lyrica from the same person.

It is very easy to get prescribed benzos. I am but I do have a very real anxiety problem. All I said was I have panic attacks when I drive, and paranoid that I will catch diseases and cant talk when there is a big crowd or people I don't know around.
I was given the choice of which benzo to go on
xanax ativan klonipin and valium
Xanax and klonipin work the best for most people. Ativan is very week, Valium is very short lasting.

Klonipin is much longer lasting but slower acting
Xanax doesn't last quite as long as Klonipin but it works must faster and is better if you have sporadic panic attacks.

First I was prescribed Prozac, then welbutrin, I took it for a few weeks let the doctor know it didnt work, and told him I was having negative side effects (like not being able to sleep or eat) and eventually chose to go on xanax, to this day I would take xanax over any other benzo, it is in a class of its own

Xanax: alprazoLAM
Valium: DiazePAM
Klonipin: ClonazePAM
Ativan : LorazePAM

Xanax is the only one that ends in LAM and I think that means it is a Triazolobenzodiazepine as to where the others are just benzodiazepines.

Alprazolam is actually the shortest acting of the above. Clonazepam is the longest, Diazepam is a close second with a faster onset, and Lorazepam is somewhere between Diazepam and Alprazolam, but by no means "weak".
If you are going by weight, Diazepam is actually the weakest, since all three other drugs are at least an order of magnitude stronger by weight.

fuck me, i really need some help with this shit and i just hate that i cant do anything about it right now.

i really need some clonazepam so i can get off lyrica. i have a feeling there is no way lyrica will work again unless i take a month off it. i just dont know and im chained to it cause if i dont take it i cant function. if i do take it i am retarded and gaining weight.

ive never been ok taking nothing though. i was on lexapro before lyrica. i need to bite the bullet and accept help from mr benzo. i dont even know if lyrica will work again and if it does i dont want to end up retarded and fat again. maybe i can just take it 2 weeks out of the month and the other half will be klonopin 1mg twice a day. fuck .5 im going with what i know works.

How is this thread still open? Did I miss the memo? Were now openly helping people deceive physicians and hospitals? What the fuck?

Blues runners: Your comments are out of line. You give a bad name to many of us.

OP: Sorry for your misfortune. Try and find a local doctor and get something prescribed (Most cases it will be ativan). You said you have insurance? Keep searching the database, I'm sure you can find a physician that doesn't require references. Get at the phones tomorrow morning ASAP and let it be known how dire your situation is. Good luck

i already got on the phones THIS morning. no one will even talk to me since i dont have a referral. so i have 1 referral with a dude that is covered. he wasnt in today.

so can i just see another pcp!!!!???? that is my question i suppose. or can i go back to my pcp and tell him i cant see anyone and his referrals are worthless? i mean what are my options?

you are free to change your primary care provider at any time.
You may even find one that will just write for benzos if you have a history of anxiety pre-dating your treatment for substance abuse (H i think from other threads).
I am really surprised that your addiction treatment specialist wont write for your anxiety medication as well - usually its kinda an all in one process, and they want to know everything you are on and have some control over it.

I know that my pcp has taken over psych maintenance since i am stable and have been on the same benzo dose for nearly 2 years, but its different for everyone. If he is out of the office, i can still call my previous psychiatrist (who is a piece of shit) and get him to call in an emergency refill - you might want to try that with the person who first wrote you clonazepam, especially if you saw them for more than a year or two.

the thread isn't the problem as the OP has a legitimate medical situation.

im not stopping until i get clonazepam. i dont think i can continue lyrica anymore. ive put on too much weight, i cant form full sentences, and it doesnt help me with anxiety anymore.

even if taking 1 week off works i can deal with those side effects. at this point i KNOW klonopin will works wonderfully for anxiety but i dont want to get addicted or get a tolerance. so i can use the lyrica to prevent that. ill probably end up doing 2 weeks klonopin 2 weeks lyrica per month and adjust to considering the side effects of each. that is to say i could do 3 weeks klonopin 1 week lyrica the first month, in order to get the lyrica out. next month do 2 weeks klonopin 2 weeks lyrica, next month do 3 weeks lyrica 1 week klonopin, next month do the full month on lyrica, next month go back to 3 weeks klonopin 1 week lyrica.

I JUST CRACKED THE CODE.

I don't know your history but you might be having rebound anxiety from prior benzo use. Benzos can take a very long time to recover from and the withdrawals can be horrible. Withdrawals are not always "dose dependant" and can varry from one person to another. A constant slow taper with klonopin or valium is a good idea. I wouldn't bounce around with the two drugs (lyrica and klonopin). There are places on the net that have conversion charts to compare benzos for half life and strength. Lyrcia works on the same Gaba receptors as the benzos and you will be getting uneven doses of the drug without a constant more comfortable blood level. Don't drink alcohol while you are having these problems as it will spike your symptoms.

To the OP: you need to "man up" and simply be honest with your doctor. I once had to be honest and tell my doctor that I kept testing positive for benzos because I needed them and since he wouldn't give them to me I bought them off the streets, and what do you know? I ended up getting RXd all the benzos I wanted.
