Stimulants In between codeine and amphetamine, don't know what to do

Well, I've recently gotten sort of addicted to codeine, but I'm also very fond of speed. The withdrawal from codeine usually kicks in after give or take 24 hours and when it does when I'm on speed it really ruins the high for me. As it did today - yesterday night I did my usual dose of 300 mg of codeine and the next day after 22 hours I did a gram of amp. It was good for a couple of hours and then when the w/d came I started to feel real shitty. I tried doing some low doses a couple a couple of hours before getting on speed, but it also wasn't very successful. I really like both of those drugs, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to quit one of them in order to get something out of either one. If I were to chose which one to leave it would be codeine, but I'm not really psyched to go through the whole process of quitting. Do you guys have any ideas on what I could do with this issue, any way to delay withdrawal or easy it up?

Amphetamine abuse during the discontinuation of opioids usually doesn't go over well.

You say your not really ready to quit, and not to discourage you, but why do you feel pressured to quit? Is your drug abuse making your life unmanageable?

Nah, it's pretty much ok, except for occasional financial problems. As I said I'm feeling pressured to quit codeine, because it ruins speed for me which I really like. Aside from that, I'm a little sick of doing the same drug every fucking day of the week in order to feel normal. I like codeine, but the w/ds start to outdo the highs and I'd like to try different drugs and not just get stuck on one of them. Stimulants are actually my thing and I'd like to experiment more with them.

Well if you can't be convinced to drop both bad habits, it's ALWAYS a good idea to start working on overcoming your addictions, one by one.

The codeine should be somewhat easy to discontinue, you can taper from 300mg --> 250 --> 200 --> 150 --> 100 --> 50 --> done, or discontinue it cold turkey (which I would recommend you do if you can, but understandably if you have a job/school/other responsibilities, it can be hard to drop everything for 3-5 days to get through the worst of opioid withdrwawal.

300mg codeine per day is not a huge dose at all, so your opiate use is low to moderate in comparison with many other users. I personally would attempt to cold turkey it, but that's just me.

I think quitting the codeine is the way to go. You have a relatively small habit that shouldn't cause you too much discomfort tapering the way tricomb recommended. It's so easy to go from codeine to stronger harder opiates/opioids and develop a nasty habit. It'd be wise to quit while you are ahead. Plus you can start enjoying your speed again!! ^_^

I'm going cold turkey, I'll take a couple days of. I'm in the middle of quite a busy week, but it's nothing i couldn't put off and quitting is my highest priority right. After making a list of pros and cons I've realised that the cons are just overwhelming. Thanks for your advice
