Blank looks mixed with an inquiring confrontational stare, mixed with ignorance. How long before these people realize that my powers of ignorance are better than their powers of perception?
I won’t look you in the eye much. Just askew, aglance, askance and look at the labels you are wearing. I look at you mainly to see if you are looking at the labels I am wearing. Rub your chin and try not to look like you are interested, just something on your mind that is far away. Yes, that’s all that’s on your mind.

Is it that time of the day today; where you grab yourself and try to think of something to say

Walking as if you are wearing those too tight emo-jeans or as if you got sexed in the buttocks last night. Walking as if gracefulness is required in this office environment to succeed. Walking as if you are getting somewhere.

You are waiting for me to say something to you. Comfort, camaraderie, consolation. I’ve been around yet I don’t feel well traveled or even skeptical. Care, care, none. I am not an asshole but why do I feel like one when I’m looked at & say nothing in return?

This was written when i first started working in a massive corporate office environment after moving state. No one introduced me to anyone apart from those i was sitting in with to learn off. Needless to say i want to read it out to them all at work tomorrow

Yeah, I can relate.

How long before these people realize that my powers of ignorance are better than their powers of perception?

Haha! I also liked the phrase 'sexed in the buttocks' (more laughs)... I like the overall style too: it's engaging, and thoughtful without being at all pretentious, not to mention a little quirky. I like quirky. ;)
