Hi all,

Have searched for this thread but couldn't find a conclusive answer:

If i try and import a research chemical, and it is seized by customs, do I get in trouble? Or do they just confiscate it?

Cheers

Hi WarChild,

You are asking a question that is toeing the line of what is allowed on Bluelight (sourcing drugs and breaking the law), but the actual laws and the common implementation of them by law enforcement officers and the courts isn't specifically banned. What you should do is look up the relevant legal material for the specific RCs (it is a very general term) you are considering importing and there will be a whole set of laws on exactly what is/isn't legal and the associated punishments (generally organized by "schedules" but I'm not familiar with Australia's system).

The best answer to your question is probably...if it is illegal and you get caught the drugs will be seized and you will be open to prosecution for smuggling illicit substances, however whether or not the authorities think you are worth it will vary depending on their resources, political climate, amount of substance, etc.

Listening to any of the slew of following stories of people getting off with a slap on the wrists and thinking the same will happen to you is foolhardy as those that got worse can't respond because they are in prison. :)

if it is illegal to import you will get in trouble.
however, if youre talking about them finding a package of white powder that is not against the law to import, and they take it for testing, you will not get in trouble unless the authorities lie or the vendor fucked up. you may very well not get your shit back though

It depends on the chemical, whether it is explicitly banned or covered by an analogue act (which 99% will be), the amount seized etc. Sorry we can't give you an answer on this one without knowing all of the details but as perKecet said, if it's illegal and you're caught importing it you risk a lot more than just a slap on the wrist and customs love letter.

Have people already been prosecuted for importing RCs? Yes. Take that how you will and use all discretion if you're still intent on trying to import something you shouldn't be.
