Importing marijuana seeds legality?

Hi all,

I have a couple of plants growing for personal use and enjoy the whole grow process.

I've been looking at varios sites oversea's that sell all different types of strains, that I'd love to get my hands on and try.

Can anyone tell me the legality of buying packets of seeds from oversea's?

Is it illegal? Given it's a packet of seeds, will customs come down on me hard should they get seized?
