Imported glass health risks?

I bought my first glass pipe about a year ago from a shady tobacco shop since I was underage and they didn't card, anyways it was made in china or India. I recently read this article http://www.hightimes.com/read/through-smoking-glass , from high times about the dangers of imported glass and was wondering if anyone knows how truthful they are and if I should be concerned. The inhaling of tiny glass dust one really scares me. After I read they article I went out and bought a new pipe from a local blower just to be safe from any further problems. So really in curious if you think the pipe was safe and all was well or if these imported glass pieces pose a health risk?

well, i personally have always stuck to a pure (and by pure i tend to go with clear, 0 ink/designs) glass on glass builds, ive always avoided anything that looks cheap, because like think everything in life i follow that rule of thumb, if it looks cheap it probally is. and id go for the same rule for bud, and things used to smoke bud

inaddition to my last post,

screens everyone says to burn once before use because of chemical residue, the ink being used in the glass would likely have chemicals in them also.

my brother left/gave me his first glass blubble, its probally 10 years old, its so worn that you can actually see that it has faded inside (the inking) so it went somewhere. (maybe during washing but who knows right?)

This is not true, there are people who are into glass blowing as a trade or art and some of them do make glass pipes and bongs. Seek them out.

imo that article is a load of bs. if your so worries just wash your shit out before you hit it. sounds like some guy just releasing rage about the raid but probably to the wrong people.
