I have come to the conclusion that is very beneficial to rinse out your nose with saline after sniffing/snorting any type of substance. I think this is very important in limiting what gets into your lungs, not just to keep your nasal membranes intact.

I have had issues with breathing difficulty, inflammation of the lungs (seemed like an asthma like condition) from sniffing oxycodone, oxymorphone and H. My best guess is the inflammation is from the mild allergic reaction to whatever opioid I am ingesting, as it has been prevalent with all these types of opioids and different brands of the pill have not made a difference, neither has the look of the H (so I basically don't believe its from a cut in the stuff or binders in the pills, I have read multiple threads with similar experiences and everyone thinks its the cuts/binders, but fails to think of how many people are allergic to narcotics).

Now I have come to the conclusion that the time when you are inhaling the stuff is not at the initial sniffing, but after when it is in the nasal cavity and you breath in through the nose. I assume some is drying up and being inhaled. So what I do is first off I moisturize with saline spray before sniffing so I get the most sticky surface I can in my nasal passages. Then I sniff very lightly and slowly, so after I am done there is still some in the straw that I failed to get because I sniffed so lightly. I usually do the lines in little bursts, too, like the base of the straw amount at a time. Then I give it maybe 5 minutes, and during that time I try to breath only through my mouth. Also I drink some water right after, in case some powder got to my throat and I could breath that in when mouth breathing. After the 5 minutes I use the saline spray again, and again in maybe 20-30 minutes. After that I will blow my nose, as I suppose the majority has been absorbed at this point, and I am pretty sure that is the case because the snot won't taste of oxy/H.

So those are just some suggestions I have. They seem to have worked for me. I use to not be able to snort for more than about a week in a row before my lungs got too f'ed up, now I am fine.

Thanks for the harm reduction advice and I'm very happy to hear that you're fine. I don't think you're aiming to generate any discussion as I can't identify any questions, meaning something like this is what we have a blogs section for. Therefore I'm going to close this thread.

Please PM me if you need it reopened or feel free to start a new thread if you have questions.
