REASON FOR PETITION:
The following is a petition to change Other Drugs. TheTripDoctor and I have a few legitimate concerns about this forum. Lately the moderators of this forum, have either been inattentive, or too preoccupied with personal matters not relating to BlueLight. This is no fault of their own. However, whether the intentions of BlueLight's admins or not people look to this board for serious advice. Several of the posts I noticed today have seriously concerned me.
REAL INSTANCE OF THE PROBLEM:
In one particular case someone asked about IV coke. He stated that it dissolved brown, and when he injected it, while it got him high there was a large lump around the injection site that was severely sore. Several users replied that he must have slipped out of the vein. While this may have been a factor contributing to it, another factor could be that the cut (which has obviously turned the solution brown) has caused serious irritation to the injection site. This irritation could lead to a severe infection and other complications. Another user stated that slipping out of the vein and injecting into the tissue is completly harmless, this is completly untrue. Injecting into the tissue of anything that is not completly pure can lead to serious infection! These posts of misinformation ARE dangerous. It is the moderators job to post concise and factual information and to delete potentially harmful information from the board. The people that replied in this post did not address the potential harm in the substance he was injecting itself. If it causes that much irritation to the injection site it may also cause serious irritations to valves in veins, heart valves, veins in the brain, and other critical areas that could lead to serious complications or DEATH.
HOW TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE:
TheTripDoctor and I have discussed and considered the issues at hand and have both agreed that in order to remedy this situation we need moderators more available to the forum. The problem is the moderator positions for Other Drugs are already filled. I would like to make it clear that we are not blaming any moderator personally for this. And as such PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PERSONALLY.
applesbliss: applesbliss is an administrator and he may be too busy with administrative issues to attend to his moderator duties in Other Drugs.
Sebastians_ghost: Sebastian is a moderator of the psychedelic drug forum, with the large user base of BlueLight, one large forum such as Other Drugs or the Psychedelic Drugs forum is enough work.
day_for_night: I have not yet witnessed any significant contribution to Other Drugs. He is an administrator as well and probably does not have the time to maintain his duties with the Other Drugs forum.
Again, please do not take this personally, we are only trying to better the forum. It is not your fault that other duties keep you from maintaining Other Drugs. However, this is a problem and it needs attention. With these positions eliminated we will have room to replace them with people qualified and willing to dedicate their time to making Other Drugs a factual, and safe place of knowledge. Separating fact from fiction. Of course it will be up to the administrators, and PhreeX to choose new moderators if the administrators choose to take this thread seriously. PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD THE OFFER TO MODERATE OTHER DRUGS
WHY NOT JUST ADDRESS THIS DIRECTLY WITH THE ADMINISTRATORS?:
We have tried. They may, in their need to attend to administrative issues not noticed the problem as directly as we have. That is what this petition is for! This is your chance to voice your agreement, and make it clear that there IS a problem and it needs to be fixed!

More active mods would be a big help here. A lot of good threads get lost in here, and some friendly, knowledgeable direction would be very useful.

I totally agree with this. I've seen some vary contradicting posts. Now whether I knew the correct answer or not is one thing, but the fact that you are dealing with some very possibly dangerous situations, its important that the moderators of this forum either know the answers to the questions themselves so that they can be the ones to answer it, or at least pay enough attention so that when they see contradicting posts like that, they can go find the answer to the question and fix up the entire post so that the incorrect replies are either corrected or deleted.
Now while I think I COULD suffice as a mod for #otherdrugs, I don't think that I have all the knowledge required to be one of the best mods, which right now is probably what the forum needs most.
If I had a say, I would either put up deus, tripdoctor, purewristlove or speedlimit55 up for moderator. I dunno if any of them would want to, but from what I've seen they all seem to have a great amount of knowledge when it comes to the drugs dealt with in OD.

Apples is in Australia for the time being and does not have regular internet access. Perhaps a substitute moderator could take his place for the time being.
I know Sebastian's Ghost loves both forums, but I will try to bring this thread to his attention so he can respond. If he realizes that this is a problem he may take measures to improve it.
I don't know Day for Night nor his situation but do agree that we seldom see him in here.
I agree that misinformation is dangerous on this board. Perhaps in this forum most of all. Hopefully this issue can be adressed quickly.

I understand that people come here looking for info and that more moderator scrutiny might seem like a solution, but it's rather impractical. If everyone would have the sense to consider these boards like a big, casual discussion between (possibly misinformed) acquantainces then no one has anything to worry about. When dealing w/ life and death (bad stuff in IVs, synthesis, etc.) remember it's your own responsibility and get off your ass and do the bookwork needed to double-check any answer you receive from the boards. Ciao.
 
This post has been transfered to the Administrators here on Bluelight and we will see to it that the problem is resolved and we will hopefully have some well educated moderators with the time to moderate this forum if needed.
