What books are *important* to you?
Not nessessarly good books, or classics, but important...
for me:
The Drifters
by James A. Michener
i really think its an excellent look at people who are 18-25. very important book in my opinion...

I thought that book was amazing... it took me forever to get through, but when I was done I was blown away by how fully I felt like I knew all the characters.
I think the Stand is pretty important.... most of the time King takes on dangers that we know aren't really real, but most of the Stand could very easily happen, more easily than I can be comfortable with.

anything by Carlos Castaneda. I looove them all and I think theyre very important books, whether you beleive them or not.

The books that have meant alot include:
Chuck Palahniuk's works (Fight Club, Survivor, Invisible Monsters, Choke) are near perfect.
Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting and Maribou Stork Nightmares.
Jack Kerouac's On the road and the dharma bums.
William S Burroughs' Junky.
How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie got me out of my post-high school shell.
and finally, everything Hunter S. Thompson has written.

hmmm...
Frank Herberts Dune series
The Autobiography of Malcom X. I think this one has been the most important to me. I find it's rare in my experince for people to completely change who what they truley believe but he did it twice.
