importance of weight in effects of shrooms/lsd

so my question is pretty simple. common sense says that since shrooms are eaten, weight is an important factor in how hard you trip. on the flip side, since lsd is dissolved orally, weight would be a non factor in trip strength. this would make sense for me personally, because i am very thin and am very sensitive to mushrooms (1.7 grams had me flipping shit) while i can handle 2/3 tabs of good acid pretty easily. so is my hypothesis correct?

I'd still say regardless of how the drug is absorbed or intaken, more weight would mean more trip. Then again, I'm 5'10 and 145, I also regularly take 3 tabs, but I can also knock back around .4g of Ketamine and still be fine. I guess it just has to do with how used to our bodies are to the drug, (im not talking about tolerance in the sense with opiates and cocaine and whatnot). I feel with psychedelics there are two divisions that people feel, one: the actual effect of the drug, and two: (usually more intense) the person freaking out because they arent used to the feeling. So if you're more used to that particular psychedelic then you can handle more.

I don't think body weight/mass has a lot to do with it. I'm sure it does in a way but I think it's more brain chemistry and how familiar you are with a particular substance. Could be wrong though.

Bump to this thread, I have wondered about this, I weigh 60kg and haven't noticed any particular sensitivity to mescaline or LSD, but my one mushroom trip was quite a lot stronger than expected.

Wondering the same thing here.. I'm shrooming in a few weeks with three other people. Me and one friend weigh ~65kg while the other two weigh between 80 and 100kg. If how hard you trip is determined by how much you weigh, either I'll be tripping balls and freaking out, or my two other friends are gonna feel "meh".

I think I made an argument on BL early when I joined that body weight has to be taken into consideration but I don't think that way anymore when it comes to psychedelics. I am above average size but trip on doses that are normal or even low for some. When it comes to drugs like MDMA, I do think it's dependent upon weight but MDMA is mainly a monoamine releaser rather than purely a 5-ht2a agonist.

I also find LSD to be much more friendly than mushrooms at the higher doses. I've had some pretty insane mindfuck moments when eating 4-5grams of homegrown shrooms.

I usually have to take what most would consider to be pretty excessive doses to get where I truly want to be and I'm 120lb. I don't think it's that dependent on weight.

I've noticed that DXM doses are almost always suggested in the form of mg/kg, which of course is dependent on your weight. However, most other drugs seem to be measured in straight milligrams or micrograms. But, DXM can't possibly be different than any orally taken chemical, can it?

i dont think that weight of a person is that important per se. i mean, the substances themselves act on the brain, and that is pretty constant regardless of body size.
what i do think matters is in places where metabolism (liver for instance) gets a word in the whole process. a larger person might have a larger, or more active liver and maybe metabolize the substance more/faster and influencing the end trip.
im also thinking at alcohol for instance, larger people neer more, not because their brains get affected in a different manner, but because fat absorbes alcohol better and thus "hides" some of the substance from the brain.
there are also people with more active enzymes from breaking down substances, and other with lazyer ones...

it could be either of these factors that have a bigger influence in drug availability in the blood, rather weight.

theres also lots of factors to consider as well, especially with natural occuring drugs like mushrooms (some batches are more powerful than others and makes comparisons by weight difficult, age of batch is also important as is storage) - ive had batches that blew me away at 2.5 and sometimes 5 was only a mild trip.

regarding DXM, K is also dosed according to kg iirc, and i bet MXE might be as well if it ever were to be properly researched. i suspect this to be the case with all dissasociatives

Yeah I was under the impression as well that it was more about receptor population density and in which areas in the CNS. Way unpredictable, you can't just lay your head on a scale. :D Well I mean you can but it would be pretty pointless, people might even think you are tripping.
