(this was written in my diary a while ago so i thought i would share it. its personal thoughts put together with a well known song that i use to sing as a kid.)
Imperfection = Beauty
there's innocence in beauty,
as the children laugh and play.
they giggle and squeal
run circles round the giant moving wheel.
she looks like "Snow White",
imperfection equals beauty.
quality, they say.
.....its just a pity her mother cant be here to see.....
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;
Brown paper packages tied up with strings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
shes growing up and becomming a woman,
right before our very eyes.
soon she'll be painting the town red,
drinking and dancing.
she may even decide to have a boy.
.....its just sad that the truth will never be known.....
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels;
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles;
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
loved by all in her life
she grows and matures.
eventually she has to move on.
so clutching her teddy and holding a photo
she embraces the world
and begins to take control.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes;
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes;
Silver-white winters that melt into springs;
These are a few of my favorite things.
i never realised just how much impact
on my life you have had.
even though you're not around
you are still as much of a 'hack'.
i needed you before but i dont need you now,
so forgetting is the answer as pain gives people an un-wanted frown.
When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
