conflating national socialism and socialism seems to happen occasionally on bluelight but it's a mistake.
as sgoti says, they did start out
publicizing some socialist policies - nationalization of businesses, social welfare, etc. hitler understood the power of this kind of propaganda early on.
but practically speaking, they were not socialist in any meaningful way, and demonstrably not after about 1933, when socialists, democrats, communists and jews were removed from government positions and trades unions were outlawed. in july that year, all other political parties were outlawed and political rivals were arrested and sent to concentration camps.
june 30th 1934 was the
night of the long knives which included the murder of gregor strasser, an early left-wing leader of the nazi party.
tl;dr the nazis were not socialists.
