Ok so i have some ampules of morphine available to me. I really hate IVing because i suck at it and I and usually just end up skin popping. I have been very lucky not to have gotten abscesses, since I've only IVed 3 times and it was always morphine pills. Usually with micron filter tho. So, now i have these 50mg ampules, can i just inject this into my calf muscle. Also will a 25g needle be big enough for this, its 5/8s long. I just want to for once get 100% of the morphine i take, sick of eating and wasting so much i jumped all over these amps.
 
What no one knows anything about IM'ing ampules of morphine. I can't IV, tried today and i actually managed to register both times, but i think one might have slipped cus there was a little bump right after i shot, but has gone down. But, I really don't like it. My arm is always sore as shit by time morph wears off, i have no clue what I'm doing wrong. So, I just wanna IM these morphine ampules.
 
Not many people shoot intramuscularly which is probably why you haven't gotten a response. You don't get the rush and the chance of developing an abscess is much greater. Personally I have never read up on the subject but would expect that it would be safest to shoot into your deltoid as that is where doctors hit you.

i'd hit the deltoid (shoulder muscle) as amapola said. that's the only place i've ever been given IM morphine by a medical professional. a 5/8 25g needle will be fine for this.

(depending where you're shooting)i wouldn't be too concerned missing with ampule as it will still be absorbed subcutaneously without the risks of a missed pill shot for example. it will likely be a little tender and some swelling for a short amount of time.
