I'm very pleased to announce our 2 new Moderators to SD Pharmbiak and CFC....

They both bring an enviable university education along with extensive experience with hormones to SD...

We are very priviliged to have them on board..

I do hope they will make a brief introduction allowing us some insight into the knowledge and skills they are able to bring to SD...

Hi all!

I have made an intro once before, but I'll pad that out a bit:

I have 3 university degrees and I'm presently working on my 4th! They're all joint degrees and cover a pretty wide spectrum of interests (politics, economics, history etc).

The relevant one is Physiology and Pharmacology, which actually started off as a medical degree, until I decided I wouldn't want to be a doctor - I want a life ;)

However, I'm very interested in all things medical, so I read and research about it anyway, to quite an extreme degree. And most of my partners seem to end up being doctors lol.

Also relevant is that I'm a practicing physio/sports injury rehab specialist. I'm also a PT and contest prep guys when I have the time.

If this all seems a bit unfocused, you'd be right! I have ADHD, so I guess that makes me naturally inclined to take an interest in nearly *everything*. The thought of doing one single career would kill me, so I do loads of self-employed things simultaneously.

As for training, I started bodybuilding in 1996 - so I've been at it a while now, though not as long as GF! I began using PEDs in 1999. I started training others in 2003ish.

Ok that's it for now. I've not had much time to spend on the board at the moment due to the exam period and a few health issues, but I'll catch up soon.

Hi all,

Just wanted to briefly introduce myself as I'm fairly new to BL. I've always been intersted in pharmacology, neuroscience and bodybuilding/performance enhancing substances and I've been training since I was very young; about 13. At that time I was focused mostly on powerlifting, but over time I really became fascinated with bodybuilding and enjoy training more for that kind of physique. Right now I don't actively compete, but I do train heavily... Mostly just because I really enjoy pushing my body as far as it'll go.

Regarding education, I completed my BS, majoring in neuroscience and minoring in pharmacology and chemistry. While there, I completed an undergraduate thesis on the influence of heavy resistance exercise on testosterone (serum level, mRNA expression, AR expression etc.). Subsequently, I went on to complete my MS in biomedical science wherein most of the coursework was comprised of biological and physiological sciences (cadaver anatomy, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology etc.) I'm located in the US and I currently work at a well known research institute/university hospital as a molecular neurobiologist where we're researching genome editing, c-fos characterization, activity regulated gene expression and epigenetic programming in the brain, and the function of eRNAs and other lncRNAs. Soon I'll be beginning my PhD in pharmacology and neuroscience at the same institution.

I've had fairly extensive personal experience with AAS and have always been fascinated by the science behind these compounds as well as the culture surrounding bodybuilding in general. I've always been motivated to push myself both physically and mentally which is part of the reason I became so interested in performance enhancing substances.

I worked closely with many of the exercise physiology and biochemistry department faculty during my undergraduate career and many of them (from professor to graduate student to post doc) use and/or have had experience with AAS. I've been fortunate to have worked with them because many of them are at an elite level in their field... my thesis advisor (the department chair for exercise physiology and biochemistry above my thesis mentor) is a competitive bodybuilder in the over 50 years old class but he's still around 5'10" 250 lbs and single digit body fat... You'd better believe there were times when he was pretty pissed off and I went into his office to discuss my work and I was afraid he would quite literally just tear me in half... Haha

My thesis mentor (a PhD(c)) at the time, now a professor at a different university) is actually the person that first introduced me to AAS and helped me through my first cycle. Prior to that I had dabbled with pro-hormones but had never actually used any true AAS. Since then, I've enjoyed researching any and every pharmacological compound that enhances performance, but there isn't really a niche for that in academia due to ethical concerns, hence why I'm pursuing a PhD in pharmacology and neuroscience.

Hopefully as a moderator I'll be able to contribute some of my knowledge and experiences to the members here in SD, because nobody should have to go into anything completely blind without any guidance. Preciously I would just advise naive people not to use any of these substances at all, but as I've learned and history has proven... people that have their mind made up are going to do what they're going to do... you can either sit on the sidelines and watch or you can reach out and extend a helping hand... and that's exactly why I'm here.

In other news I also enjoy working on cars and making them go way too fast (currently I drive a Corvette (I know the Europeans reading this are probably shaking their heads and doing a face-palm... haha) that's way too slow for my liking so I'm in the process of resolving that issue...)... So there you go. I do have an addiction and it's speed... just not really the kind that we usually talk about on BL.

Looking forward to listening, learning and offering advice when it's requested.
