I know that 2 weeks seems like forever when you need relief now, but the way I see it, that's no reason not to get the ball rolling. If, by some miracle, in 2 weeks time you no longer feel like you need or want to start methadone, you can always tell them you've changed your mind. Worst case scenario, you're in the same exact situation you're in now. Best case scenario... well, you might find it to be the push you needed to start making changes.
That's my two cents. Truthfully, I'm in a similar state as you, so "do as I say, not as I do." I'm addicted to ... drugs. It has primarily been opiates/heroin over the years, but I started on a methadone maintenance program about 6 months ago, and not only did I not stop using heroin (although methadone blocks the high at the right dose, so I have cut back hugely,) I started IVing stimulants as well.
I also lost my job a few weeks ago. You'd think the loss of income would have put a stop to my drug habit, but addiction will not lay down without a fight - I just started to dig a hole of debt. I also spend most of my time laying around at home, watching the hours pass, waiting for something to change without doing anything to change things.
Just wanted you to know you're not alone.
