Me idea on bleaching syringes is that yes, it sterilizes effectively most of the time, but only when used correctly, and even then, not 100%.

Not a chance worth taking. I'm sure you will be fine, but get tested. And if you are really freaking out about it, there are medications you can take that can prevent an infection. I think the efficacy is low though, and they are pretty expensive.

Bleach is a good steralizer if you do it right. You should have used a 1:10 bleach to water ratio while pulling the plunger as far up as it would go. Do that 3 or 4 times and the odds are good that you killed any potential viruses. I would say the biggest risk is hep c as it is a very hardy virus. you need to wait around 6 months from exposure to get tested.

I have heard this method too. I was in rehab and they had a speaker there that was in the field of HR or something, and discussed how to properly sterilize a needle (last resort though), and he said to do what you said with bleach, and to do it 3-4x as you mentioned.

I have the whole DVD which includes the clip shown, where they also interview the scientists who designed and implemented the research this advice was based upon which I got from my drugs clinic for free. I think you can get them sent to you for free in the post as well.

That's BS imakickassninja. Bleach kills HIV, Hep C etc. It has a near 100% success rate if done properly, and yes they have done research studies on this. If it's done properly it is an excellent way to reduce infection risks if there is no other alternative (IMO there always is, even if it means not using though). Suck up thin bleach, pour out, suck up tap water, pour out and then use.

That said clean needles is always best. Actually not using needles in the first place is best, but if you're at the stage where you're injecting heroin then you're health could very well end up getting fucked eventually anyway.

i'm going to assume that they probably didn't clean the needles properly in this particular situation...

You can get free needles if your contry has a needle exchange program, I just pick em up at my local "CLSC"

i dont think the two guys had anything i kno one real good, and the other was a buddy from high school,but u can never be too sure, to be honest i dont kno why i even did it, im a recreational user and only due opiates maybe twice a month, it was kinda a heat of the moment sort of thing, i really regret doing it because i havnt been able to look at myself the same since, i jus remember when i was a little kid saying i would never do drugs, and shooting heroin is some pretty hardcore shit
