Hey, my name is Luke. I've been on Methadone for almost 4 months now, I'm now on 95mg, of Methadone. Is there anyway, that if I go long enough without taking my methadone, or if I inject enough mg of Ds. Can I still feel the rush? That's all I want, I don't even care about the pill high, I just want to feel the rush, but I don't want to have to go without taking my methadone for more than a day because I get so sick. If that's the only way though, then I guess I'll have to do it. Any suggestions, or tips? Thanks guys!

So your gonna make yourself go through methadone w/d for a couple second/minute rush? Why don't you try to see what's making you crave or talk to someone. Isn't that the whole point in being in the clinic??

I'm going to assume you're talking about hydromorphone. I wouldn't waste your hydromorphone. We're not really here to help you get highest. On that dosage of methadone, you're going to put yourself through a lot of pain just to get a rush. I don't recommend it.

I totally agree with Neighborhoodthreat, it's not worth the trouble putting your methadone levels in your blood unsteady. If you stop taking your treatment even for a day, the imbalance will be hard to correct.
Plus all that for chasing a rush, not even a high... no, not worth it.

This is a section about drugs, and information about doing them. There is another post almost like this, and he got very helpful information. Not a bunch of people trying to say that doing drugs are bad. If you think that, then I would suggest not reading threads about doing drugs. Simple as that. Yes I am talking about Hydromorphine. I've been shooting up capsules for 2 years now. I just got on Methadone, I don't want the high, just the rush. If you have ever tried IV with Hydromorphine then you will know that the rush is MUCH better than the high. Even though it only lasts roughly 30 seconds. I made this thread to ask for information about getting the rush while on Methadone, I didn't make this thread to get a lecture on how drugs are bad. Thanks.

I love drugs as much as the next person but what you are trying to do is just stupid. You probaly won't even cop a rush since the methadone has such a long half life or your gonna have a nice round of w/d for 30 seconds of fun.

By hydromorphine im guessing mean hydromorphone?lol I dont think anyones trying to lecture you on drugs being bad. You must know about damaging drug use or you wouldnt be on methadone, am I right?
the advice everyone gave was correct in that stopping your methadone in order the get an I.v rush off pills(the threads on dangers of that are legion.lol) is a fool-hardy enterprise and contrary to BL HR mandate. Truth is by the time you have been off the methadone long enough to attain your hm rush, you will be so ill you wont care about it anymore and then its just a slippery slope back to heroin. Or a n uphill battle to right the methadone imbalance. Neither option is a good one im afraid.

I know that, that's why I was wondering if there is a certain amount you have to inject, or if it's just not possible to feel while I'm Methadone. Oh no, one letter was miss spelled! I get carry homes, so if I don't take my drink, the people at the clinic won't know. So it won't affect the amount that they give me. If you have to go in to the clinic to get your drink, and you skip it, then the next time you go in, they will lessen your dose. I don't have to worry about that because I get carrys. So what you're saying is that you would have to wait days in order for it to get out of your system? Yeah, there's no point in doing it then if I have to wait that long. I don't want to be sick for days just to feel a 30 second rush.

Thats exactly what I mean, methadones half-life is between 15-60 hrs and you will be on the upper end of that number since your dose is stabilised. So you could be looking at going without for over 2days before using the hm, you will obviously be really sick by that point and its still not one hundred % that you will get your rush because of methadones high binding affinity. The other risk is that if enough methadone hasnt been eliminated then you could easily OD off what you think is a safe dose of hm. Good luck with the rest if your treatment.

Just keep in mind that bLs first function is harm reduction and not how to best get high. More how to safely proceed if you are dead set on it. That said, try not to become upset at posters telling you the risks and downsides of what you ask about. They have your best interest at heart. And you are after all asking people for opinions, you're bound not to like all of them.

To actually answer your question...NO!...Your body adapts to methadone,and for lack of better words"memorizes"the tolerance.The rush you're chasing is long gone my friend...That's what it's made for.It is a very curious intelligent drug.I wish you a healthy,clean life

I would agree many posts saying that it's not really worth it, but if you choose to do it, depending on how you metabolize methadone (if you drink booze you metabolize a lot faster eg., or some people take their dose of methadone split into once every twelve hours simply because their bodies metabolize the methadone very fast). You may have allready been tested by your doctor to check the speed of your metabolism when you start taking methadone, but they don't give you the results.
when i was on methadone i would wait about 36 hours after dosing before taking another opiate, thats when i would start to feel the w/d a tiny bit, the longer you wait the less dilly you will need for the same high (then you are deliberately putting yourself into a state of discomfort for what is a very short rush/high)... dosage wise i can't in good conscience comment...
