Friends, comrades, high-ons. I have decided one week ago to stop using drugs and I feel alive again. I am now exercising daily and preparing myself for a hike from Georgia to Maine via the Appalachian Trail. It's been something I've dreamt of doing for years and years. It was a daily routine for me. Get stoned, and research the hike. Then one day, it finally occured to me that I couldn't barely walk up the steps, so how the fuck am I going to walk 2,000 plus miles? I realized that the only time I felt happy, was when I was researching my passion, the hike.
Bluelight is the only message board I've ever posted on and that is not by coincidence. I feel deeply connected to all of you. We all have been brought together through this powerful force in our lives (drugs), not knowing that one day it would destroy us.
I only have this advice for anyone who wants to stop getting high. Like the old Nike ad used to say: "JUST DO IT!" Find something that makes you happy, something that makes you complete, and just run with it, and don't look back....
and I'm out........ %)
