I'm surprised as many people are scripted Temazepam, IME I've always been the only one I knew who was scripted 30mgs of Restoril, most people have never even heard of it....also I'm curious how some of you are prescribed either multiple benzos for sleep AND anxiety or those that are prescribed both amphetamines and benzos.

Just a question but are those who I just described going to legit doctors or pill mills and quacks? Just wondering because any legit doctor/psychiatrist I've seen wouldn't Rx uppers and downers or multiple benzos. Maybe its just my luck tho, who knows?

I'm prescribed Temazepam and Lorazepam. The Lorazepam for slight anxiety and the Temazepam for harsh anxiety / insomnia. Also, it's a legit doctor.

Since you used my list. I didn't just walk into a dr's office and get all that.. The benzos are from my psychiatrist who I have been seeing for over 2 years. I had a horrid case of panic disorder.. just recently came off of Xanax.

As for the pain medication I am in pain management. I am 30 I have multiple bulging discs, herniated discs, discs collapsing on eachother, degenerative disc disease, osteoathritis and fibromyalgia. My medication was in no way "easy" to get. You have to go with the flow... I didn't even want fentanyl.. but I have it now. I will be in pain for the rest of my life. Maybe you should take a proactive role about your medical treatment and you would be able to get medication you want.

You have a lot of the same symptoms that my mom has. Very odd.

I take these prescribed meds for faucet arthritis and disc degenerative disease the topamax is for severe bipolar disorder

as far as illegal drugs its jus easier to say the only illegal drugs i have not tried is mesqillian (?) and qualudes..however my drug of choice was heroin for ten yrs I used simply to dull the pain emotionally n physically. i still use some illegal narcotics from time to time but only recreationally never again daily!

Citalopram - depression (been off effexor for 2 months, but things just got worse so I'm trying this one out now.)
Baclofen - back pain (I find it also greatly helps with the dexedrine crash)
Mirtazapine - insomnia/depression

Illegal drugs:
Cannabis (used for...everything; depression, anxiety, pain, headaches, dexedrine crash, mood stabilization, appetite, and boredom

D-amphetamine, mainly to focus and get things done but sometimes I find myself enjoying it quite a bit. To me it's smoother than coffee, coffee gives me more anxiety than dexedrine.

Same here man. Caffeine makes me feel like shit.

I don't understand why a doctor would prescribe two benzodiazepines at the same time when they could just up the dose of the one that they are prescribed. They all do the same thing. Hypnotics are sleep specific but if your on Klonopin or Xanax already and need insomnia relief, just up the dose at night. I can understand if your a Diazepam taper though.

On the other hand, I'm prescribed an upper and downer and its the most common practice from all the psychiatrists I've ever been to and I've been to a lot. Probably been through five. All of them either kept me on them or changed one of the upper/downers to another upper/downers.

My psychiatrist, who is also an addictionologist (don't laugh) AND works out of the professional services center at one of the top rehabs in the country (Ridgeview Institute), is retired, but just back making extra money. I love him. He's hilarious to meet with. He asks what you want, what strength, how many, and doesn't even ask why. Then when you go see him the next month he'll start writing the refills and mumble to himself/yet out loud, 'God damn who the fuck wrote you ninnnnnety xanax and adderall?'

I have a similar type of doctor, who is just a family physician, but he is almost 70. I am sure he is getting ready to retire and I am definitely sure he is there for the money. However I DO laugh, I do not love him..

Dilaudid: 4-8 mg's every 4-6 hrs for breakthru pain
Fentanyl (patches): currently prescribed 150 mcg's every 72hr's for around the clock pain, mostly used when I was having severe problems with taking pills and I was on a PICC line, then a regular IV for a while for antibiotics and total parental nutrition. However I tapered myself down to 100 mcg's, hoping to taper down more. I did this myself, without the "okay" from any doctor..
Oxycontin: 20 mg's every 12 hrs for around the clock pain, just started using this to taper off of the high Fentanyl dose
Xanax: .5 mg's every 8 hrs for anxiety & insomnia
Asacol (generic mesalamine): 1,800 mg's every 6 hrs for Crohn's maintenance, it coats the intestines
Bentyl (generic dicyclomine): 20 mg's every 8 hrs for pain & cramps related to intestinal pain
Birth-control..
Zofran (generic ondansetron): 4-8 mg's every 4-6 hrs as needed for vomiting/nausea

All the Rx's are from him, except two, one of which is prescribed by my gastroenterologist which is Humira. However since I have had some infections due to the PICC and then a breast abcess from a child, I could not continue using the immunosuppressant Humira, therefore I was put on a shit-ton of pain medications and I hate them because all they do is cause a tolerence over the years, then when the insurance decides to be shitty (as per usual) they have to request it to be accepted over and over again, even if I have been taking it for a long period of time due to the law, I go thru severe withdrawls.......... at which times I occasionally fix up an injection of Dilaudid to fight off the horrid withdrawals, but nothing other than that, and certainly not for recreation. Fuck me, with all my problems, no. I also have medical marijuana prescribed, but I can't really afford that either, even though I smoke less than a 1/4 oz a month, or ingest a brownie or something once in a while. I usually get the MMJ free, because the guy knows I'm legit and feels bad selling me such small doses for such high prices, but I never go asking. God no... ugh.

ANYHOW! I used to take illicit drugs such as MDMA, speed, coke, LSD, and non Rx'd shit like Adderall, Soma, and pile on alcohol, but have ceased since I moved away from all of that to start a family and start taking care of my body since I was just self medicating and doing a crap job at that....

other-varys from day to day or by week to week but mainly: Weed-high geade or mid grade B.C. mid grade(Beasters)....Opiates of variuos types depedning on whats available...

abilify=this drug has crippled me for life

I can only go 3 days without it before I have severe rebound paranoia, considerably worse than I had before I started it. I have thought of stopping it but it does work for me.

Though more prudent options may be to replace the Focalin with Wellbutrin, and to reduce the Strattera and Lexapro to Savella (milnacipran).
