Poor Poor SOuL

You do get an A for effort for reviving it by throwing events and having 'faith' that there still is a need for DNB.

I suppose you like house music huh.........
mmmmmsmmmmssmmmmmssmmmmmssmmmmssmmmmss

why the fuck do i have to be throwing up against this party....if go bankrupt you kids better pay my tuition!

.....grrrr, would have loved to see dieselboy and grooverider any other weekend. got damned tree huggin hippies.

no muzic till noon?!?

no music till noon on saturday? who cares!?! seeing what ravers do when there's NO music is a far more interesting psychology experiment, if not just for the night...

/me wades through the silence in this thread as everyone is in the woods without internet connections :)

Hope everyone is having a great time and staying safe. Let us know how it was when you get back.

wondci-I was wondering the same thing.

I'll be there all weekend, but fuck camping for a lark, I've got a/c and a shower.

I was thinking that I'd like...make a sign or something to attract the BL'ers. ::shrug:: or maybe paint BL on me forehead?

But we should set a time where everyone should meet at the main stage so we can all see each other!!

=D

*Edit*
Ok, I'm just gonna set an arbitrary one, and hopefully people will show up. I'll be wearing a bright blue bandanna on my belt so I'll be a little noticeable!

Bluelighters!! Meet at the front of the main stage Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. We can mix and mingle!

This was posted today on my local message board Stlouisraver.com.

Dancesafe has been snubbed by this party.

The St. Louis chapter of the non-profit harm reduction and drug education organization, Dancesafe, was invited to this event to set up an educational booth and have volunteers present who have been specially trained to deal with various safety issues arising from drug use, as they do for parties in St. Louis. Everything had been worked out far in advance with the promoters. Today, the first three of the volunteers arrived very early to begin setting up and establishing communication with the EMT and security teams.

Despite the prior agreement, when they arrived at the gate, they were told that they could not set up the booth, and the volunteers were having their list spots revoked. Liability reasons were cited. Keep in mind that Dancesafe has been in frequent communication up through this week, and nothing had been said about this.

This is very unprofessional behavior on the part of the promoters, and shows a complete lack of support for those who are supporting safety issues within the scene. Many volunteers have put in a significant amount of time in preparing for this event, and money had been spend on supplies. Some called off of work just so they help with this event.

As a result, the webmaster of St. Louis Raver (stlouisraver.com) issued the following official denouncement of the event, and removed all threads posted by the promoters.

We don't believe promoters should invite an organization and turn them away, especially DanceSafe.

The promoters of this event should have given proper notice at the very least. Seems odd, shady, and something leaves me unsettled about this event.

Whatever happened to the curtousey the promoters used to have in St. Louis? I know I remember it, and the people responsible for this event have totally disappointed me any many many others.

Sincerely,
Jesse Rehmer

Perhaps the promoters were not aware that they were making a rude insult to representatives of one of the most active boards in the Midwest. Perhaps they didn't realize that AJ Cook, the founder and leader of the St. Louis Dancesafe chapter, is also the founder and owner of that message board, which gets 100,000 hits a week.

Poor decisions, sloppy organization and poor communication is also bad politics. Those involved in St. Louis are probably too polite to mention this elsewhere, but I thought you all should know the facts. Some from St. Louis have already decided not to attend because of this.

If you aren't familiar with Dancesafe, visit the national web site at dancesafe.org.

Thanks,
David

Just wanted to let it be known that things are being poorly, and shadily run out there,
