The whole point of using water in a regular bong (i.e. for cannabis) is to temper the harshness of the hit. That's not a factor when inhaling methamphetamine vapor. So, pointless

Unfortunately your very wrong it's not pointless considering the frequency of smoke and how much that specific individual smokes out of the bong ammount of meth smoked daily + the length of which they keep the same water in the bong = a great reclaim of the product in which was already smoked through that time if they know how to reclaim it properly the yeild you get back from it is quite amazing if it's not sum stepped on shit also the water make the gross meth taste literally almost disappear and not to mention if you nose hit rather then regular hit through the mouth you get way more lit and way faster almost the equivalent of a hot rail

It's not pointless if it adds to the enjoyment of the experience. So much of drug use is about the rituals. It's the predominant way to consume the drug in China, for example, and I doubt that's because they have delusions about the pure efficiency of it. It, at least, comes off as more social.
