If you could time travel to the past 2000 years ago, what ONE thing would you take?

I was going to start this thread aggges ago but then ran into a massive line of computer/ps3 problems.

Basically, do you think that if you were permitted to take back one piece of technology to the year 0012 or a book, what would you take and why?

Would you take back a religious book? which one? and for what reason? would you try and make yourself seem like the messiah instead of jesus? So many options and things that you could choose, it's pretty hard to just pick one, I think that thesaurases should be ruled out though as they contain too much information.



If it were me, I'd take back a very basic radio/walkie talkie as I am pretty sure that with tthe materials back then it would be possible to reverse engineer one.

I think that widespread regional/global communication would have taken off a hell of a lot faster if they had walkie talkies back then, imagine where we would be now if someonee had invented it back then, i think we would be flying around in spaceships by now if they had radios 2000 years ago.
 
Ipod/mp3 full of tunes with the solar charger ;) all connected its one thing.

I can't live without my music cause no matter what mood I'm in there's always a song that reflects it btw I listen to everythink hearts in punk but listen to everythink

Good question btw :) had me thinking for a few minutes no doubt I'll change my mind after another think ha ha

Do you mean two cans and a string? If so yes, they had the materials (just, you'd need to make your own can but they had tin). If not, no, they did not have printed circuit boards, transistors, batteries, loudspeakers etc in 12AD. :p =D
 
1 only effie, gabba doesn't really count as you could just start gabbaring away back in year 0012 anyway.

I chose the radio as I think it would benefit mankind tremendously, I'd probably also get to be king of the world too.

If it is too advanced technology then you wouldn't be able to reverse engineer it considering the raw materials around at the time, but something as relatively simple as a walkie talkie would be amazing and would appear to be a miracle I would suspect back then.

I think that there would be a 50/50 chance though that I'd be killed for whatever I brought back with me though.
 
lol at a tank =D. wouldn't last long before you ran out of fuel though would it.

I think that there would be a way to create a basic radio communication device without circuit boards using the materials that were around back then.
 
Porn, cause all the women back then had class. And in reality they'd be 2000 years older than me, don't fancy being Jesus dad :D although maybe this is where the idea of immaculate conception came from?

I presume you will be communicating over radio using Mugobian, although I know it doesn't have a spoken form YET.

am pretty sure that you could do it with some wires and coils, it obviously wouldn't look anything like a radio that we have today but I think it could be done.

Someone earlier sugggested solar panels to take back, think this would be a better idea maybe, as I reckon that if solar power was figured out before fossil fuels for electricity then the planet would be in a much better state than it is right now.

Solar cells, like transistors, are semiconductors and are quite complex to manufacture.

There is a reason technology developed the way it has done. The easy shit gets done first and provides the infrastructure for the difficult shit to happen.
 
I would take a gun and totally fuck history up, ruining important events and killing key people.
