Heya,
Question for yas!
If you could hang out with any 3 writers/poets/songwriters who would they be?
Mine are:
Jason from Strung Out
This actually doesn't count. I've hung out with Jason as well as the rest of the band several times, they're nice guys. :-)
Jason writes the most introspective lyrics I've ever read. I can relate in some way to EVERY single Strung Out song. However I've played Strung Out for a lot of people, and a lot of them have said his lyrics don't make any sense.
Jim from Pennywise
Jim writes great personal lyrics, and gets political like a mo fo! His political stuff is great though, and I can always seem to be on the level with it. I'm actually listening to Pennywise's Straight Ahead right now for the first time in months. I feel like I'm 16 again! I'm all sitting here rocking out and singing along.. hehe.
Steve Brodsky from Cave In
Steve writes the scariest, yet most beautiful words I've ever read/heard. It's just truly amazing. If you're never heard them, man.. I really need to. Look for em on Napster, or go to their labels website @ www.hydrahead.com. Their new CD kinna sounds like radiohead/failure.. (a HUGE departure from the metal and hardcore they used to play) and is simply masterful.

1) Leonard Cohen - I'm counting on him to attain Nirvana...if he doesn't...I won't even bother looking for salvation.
2) Bob Marley - Although no longer in this realm, his spirit lives on, forever nurturing, forever striving for good in a world full of walking zombies. His pain still lives as well. Oh...just for a glimpse of his emotions.....
3) Alice Walker - Ethnicism, Feminism, Spiritualiasm and Globalism.....all without having to patch labels on lapels.

Sorry KPrincess and readers. The above post was written by me (WritnPage) while sharing the same computer with KP

Afroman

Elliott Smith - Just when you thought you were ultra depressed along comes a guy who once jumped/fell off a cliff and upon seeing the ground rush up to meet him, muttered, "Oh well, whatever, who cares." But well, his lyrics are poetry and melodies fallen-angelic.
Elizabeth Wurtzel - Just when you thought you were ultra depressed along comes a girl who had to take an innumerable amount of pills to keep the blackness away. Thank god for Prozac, and "Prozac Nation."
Juliana Hatfield - Just when you thought you were ultra depressed along comes a girl whose voice you want to marry...
