If people lived forever, then the world would be overpopulated.
There would be less jobs, and less food to eat. What would be the point of eating or drinking anything if you can't die?
Eventually the government/parliament would find ways to create artificial death to shrink the entire population.
The Bubonic Plague would be reborn and spread throughout the world all over again.
