^sorry but ephedrine is so dissimilar to meth that its not even relevant. To the OP, that sounds like a very dangerous path to go down. It's pretty much planning your future addiction.
I agree. I opened this thread last night and just stared at it for a while, then shut down my computer. We get so many "can I take this and not get addicted" threads, it's overwhelming. I mean, do the OPs ever stick to what they originally planned? From what I've seen, the OP should expect his willpower to be tested.
I mean sure, there are some people who have accomplished what the OP is trying to do (If I'm not mistaken, captain.heroin did this for a while),
but they are a minority, and too often others will look at them and think "Oh if they can do it, it can be done, it's all willpower, I can do this." This makes just as much sense to me as a poor to middle class person looking up at the top 2% and thinking "Oh I don't have to work hard to be financially secure! There's a safety net, all I have to do is want it bad enough." I've seen countless posters ask the same questions, "If I take XXX drug XXX times per XXX, will I XXX?", and I really don't think we can really answer that with any certainty.
One thing that's incredibly important to taking drugs regularly long-term is consistency. You see the same thing with chronic pain patients who are attempting to self-medicate with heroin, most of the time, it doesn't work out. It's one thing to use amphetamines regularly when they are pharmaceuticals and you know exactly what you're getting, how much it is, where it came from, etc. Pharmaceutical amps aren't like a get-out-of-jail-free card either, they have drawbacks just like their illicit counterparts. Self-medicating with crystal is a whole different ballgame than Desoxyn and other pharmaceutical amphetamines, it's a lot harder to stick to a dose, I used less than 30mg of crystal orally and while I was able to stick to it, it was really tempting to take a higher dose, or to take it through another route of administration like nasal. I took it daily. With it's pharmaceutical counterpart, I don't get tempted to take higher doses or to even take it daily, it's strictly as needed.
In conclusion, I found it difficult to utilize crystal (which my reward pathways viewed as a recreational drug) to accomplish the same task as Desoxyn (which, despite being the same drug, an extremely controlled substance, is one prescription I have
never had a problem with, I view it strictly as a tool to be utilized with caution, lacking the recreational aspect that shards possess). I would recommend working with your psychiatrist to find a better solution to self-medicating with crystal methamphetamine.
