I get a bit of anxiety from time to time so lookin for some advice. im seing my dr again soon. & have tried different meds including a a few different kinda of benzos.

which benzo would be less likely to cuz problems with tolerance?
which would be easier to get if if i wanna stop em?
I do not wish to take them every day. Only when i feel like it would be in my best interest to take something.

had various benzos before so hopefully valium (i ony want the weaker benzos) would be the safest choice if occationly i need to take something cuz i thought i was the most practical for my cicumstances anyway.

I assuming the answer is going to be valium but just making sure

Yea, I would say valium. I mean, if you take any benzo over time you will likely be put on valium to taper you off, so this way you're cutting out the switch.

I also find it to be less habit forming than xanax. The xanax hit me harder/faster than valium.

Really? You think valium? I have always been under the impression that valium was a stronger benzo, not a weaker benzo. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I may suggest lorazepam, but I will have to wait until I hear back about the valium. lol I'm interested now.

You'd like something to take as needed for anxiety episodes? I would say something like lorazepam would be your best bet, as it's half life isn't long as say diazepam's active metabolites are, and isn't considered as "recreational" by some as alprazolam is. I only have a lot of personal experience with clonazepam and alprazolam, but would say from what I have heard, and read I would guess that lorazepam would be a "lighter", yet effective benzo for you. But, remember it is still a benzo, and potentially very addictive. With no real benzo tolerance 0.5 mg - 0.75 mg would probably be best as needed.

No Valium (diazepam) is a weaker benzo in terms of mg/mg dose potency. 10 mgs of Valium (Diazepam) is approximately equal to 0.5 mgs of Xanax (Alprazolam) for example.

I agree with lorazepam....I always forget I even take them when I do....in a good way....plus they taste great sublingual

lorazepam seems to do the trick without causing people to become wildly addicted to it... IME anyway. i haven't seen anyone get excited about Ativan unless they were having a panic attack, so that's probably a good sign.

I'd say Valium. Way smoother and more natural feeling IMO. It's the perfect before bedtime medicine. Valium does have a long half life though. Some will stay in your system for up to 4 days. That is why it's so good to taper and get off of. It sort of "naturally tapers" in the blood stream. That is another reason I like Valium. I find there's no "hangover" from it.
