i found this guy on reddit asking for submissions to his magazine saying he was looking for mostly unknown stuff to review. it was in the noise subreddit so i sent him some different links to more noisy stuff that i've done. i thought he would've picked one recording i don't have available for blue light at the moment which is a paint brush holding electric guitar strings to sound like a really distorted steel drum, or i also had an mp3 of a really distorted bass harp played like a horror movie. i would've suspected since it was noise, he would've picked some of the more intense distorted stuff, but he asked me if he could use this lo fi or minimalist ambient guitar track, and i said he could do whatever he wanted with it or write anything he felt fit to describe it... i got kind of nervous to read what he wrote, but i'm listed at the bottom of this page "robert leblanc" i checked to see if he added me: https://www.rangermagazine.net/issue9

i dunno if this dude reviews stuff that's any good... i'm honestly not into a lot of noise, and kind of have always felt like i'm competing in the genre. what i listen to for noise is mostly guitar bands, and i'm thinking that's not really what this dudes site is going to be about. if it were on the "noise rock" reddit emphasizing the rock, i'd think there'd be more guitar stuff, but i'm really not also even a big fan of a lot of stuff in the noise rock genre. i like a few niche acts, but generally, that stuff is kind of meh to me... for regular "noise" i dunno if anyone has ever heard of merzbow it's like distortion played as the beats of techno kind of.. i'm guessing the zine is a lot of stuff like that and then maybe some more ambient stuff if he picked the track he did by me... anyways, i don't expect many people to be interested in this, but even if anybody wants to go check out a couple things or whatever, it'll probably raise the stats on his site... lol... i guess this dude does a print of this too and i'm guessing he does local shows in his area or whatever, so maybe that will get some people to like what i'm doing.

if anybody from that site tried to book me to play that song, i'd get totally stressed... i could play it easily if someone tought me the notes, but generally that performance was just me messing around on low dose lsd. i've done similar stuff, but with that tuning, i have no idea what i'm doing exactly, and it's not something i would be confident about if someone wanted it repeated. some of the other stuff i linked to i was actually hoping maybe he'd put up and someone would book me.. i guess not.... the main part is just the open notes tuned how it sounds, so it should be something i can do, but all that harmonics, idk. harmonic notes kind of run into one an other with what i hear, and i'd probably even be underconfident about tuning the open notes.. having him pick that track actually caused me some self doubt and anxiety about what i do.. i'm over it though. i actually posted something i'll probably never record again in the post your own recording sticky at the top of the forum here on BL that i'm super happy with. i was listening to that a bunch.

so yeah... i haven't decided if i have it in me to check out this site... noise really isn't a lot of people's thing either, so idk.

that's the first time any of my stuff has ever been publicized.

for like 20 years i've been emailing different people from the boston scene trying to get exposure... i'm pretty sure they all know who i am, but i generally get no shown respect.. i think with some artists, they like to just see what they do unless they are showing they do one type of niche performance or a band with like set stuff... i just do all weird shit in all different genres.. it doesn't really make sense and it's not marketable.

i'm pretty sure some people around know me as a questionable personality and don't want to expose me to the public becuase of that too.. i really don't know.. i'm proud of a lot of the stuff i've done though.

eh... i'm gonna top this for this dude's magazine and not make a whole new thread about what i want to post... two for one posting.. double the topping of a thread.

i just bought this japanese fender strat from 2007 and i'm hoping it's real. lol... i dropped 950$ on ebay. i like to keep 2000$ in the bank account cause the government doesn't want people to have over 2000$ in their bank on disability for some reason, so i bought this, and i'm gonna just cut down on weed and put like 50-100$ a month in to get my savings to get back to 2000$ in case i need it for an emergency. good decision imo... i'm still gonna have enough to smoke like an 1/8th a day and still save all the money i need cause my parents give me a pretty good deal on rent compared to what i'd pay in public housing and weed got to be like ridiculously cheap where i am. i'm pretty excited. if i didn't buy this, i'd probably just smoke even more than an 1/8th a day, and that's kind of stupid. unhealthy to do that for long. i get a bad cough. anyways, here's that guitar:

i'm gonna use it to play stuff like this, but this is a 6 string instead of a 12 string, i'm gonna try to work in some different sounds. this is a danelectro honey tone battery powered amp in this recording. it is so sick imo. i used to record on a fender blues tube amp that made my electric sound kind of acoustic when i'd play soft, but that thing is super loud and hard to deal with so it's hibernating till i end up renting some studio space with friends.. the danelectro honeytone is so quiet and so sick though if anybody likes vintage amps, they are like under 30$ with shipping. fun to just mess around with even if it's not your style. i don't know if i should be telling people to get them cause they might be discontinued and some people probably really want them. i'm gonna order another one soon incase mine breaks:

also i'm gonna do a lot of weird free jazz metal noise stuff with the 12 string guitar that i don't have any links to... pretty similar to nirvana destroying their stuff, except i'm not gonna break the guitar. i even kind of describe the music i do like john coltrane interstellar space album combined with korn, which is kind of like when nirvana smash their instruments in some ways. lol

this guitar is going to tempt me to just play regular.. right now when ever i play i put the guitar flat on my lap and play mostly with my thumb. playing regularly causes serious tension with my back injury. the way i play now limits me a ton... there are some songs in standard tuning that i'd love to do some more takes on. i was going to get a danelectro hodad 12 string for like half the price, but i figured this fender would sound better incase i want to destroy my back and do some takes... when john frusciante of the chilli peppers went into seclusion and was abusing coke and heroin, he was writing a lot of stuff in a f g, his performance in the viper room around that time looks like he was using those chords a lot.. anyways, when i was writing this song, i was convinced that john frusciante picked this progression and did those chords, and that it was just something people naturally played. i think it might actually be my own thing. supposedy john frusciante lost a bunch of music he recorded when he was hardcore into drugs. i always thought i was reviving his music when i was doing it, but honestly, from a lot of what he was playing in interviews, i'm probably playing a lot different. it would've been cool to play the same stuff, but honestly not something that was real... anyways, a lot of bands use the A F and G in chord progressions. this is what that song is. it would sound great on that guitar. i might go to one of my friend's from the skate park and tune the guitar and show them what to play and do some simon and garfunkle like takes... here's a take of me doing a f g on a 12 string if anyone is bored.. probably won't be making any attempts at doing this song again with myself solo. playing guitar the standard way is like self harm to me.

^^^^i played this song and went some years with out hearing the tape, and when i went to bed after hearing it again and uploading it to the internet, i had some dream that was really euphoric but i woke up crying and really depressed that i was unable to really work on the song... up until figuring out i could play guitar flat on my lap and not hurt myself, i was really depressed about not being able to play guitar. just doing the take in the above video was really peaceful. i want to do that more with free jazz drums like i said.

here's another track if anybody has ever heard of the famous recluse noise guitarist JANDEK. when i realized that there were more tunings than just standard tuning on guitar, i realized what jandek was, and instead of listening to all his music. i did a bunch of open string noise music that i thought jandek would've done by only hearing a few songs. jandek was supposed to be the master of open string noise guitar... anyways, like my thinking about john frusciante, my music never turned out the same as jandeks.. here's a song i wrote called "jandek and andy mckee" about jandek being a noise musician and andy mckee being a classical guitar, and how i feel like my music is more of a pretty sounding bird like andy mckees classical sound, and jandek is more like a crow. i feel like there's something more to me being a pretty bird, and this is how i would choose my guitar skill level and playing over being andy mckee or being jandek. i thought i was being gang stalked when i played it and was suffering from severe insomnia with thinking people were outside my house watching me on a military camera waking me up every couple hours:

if you search jandek on you tube you'll find a lot of him doing weird dissonant noise guitar... his best work though is this song in standard tuning imo.. i'm kind of let down by some of his noise music. there is a documentary about jandek i think. i've only seen clips of it. this is my favorite jandek song, but like i said it's kind of standard singer song writer open mic stuff, it's not really noise like his other music

here's another chord progression for a band i wanted to work... because i get my vocals from playing the guitar with this take, i think honestly if i could get back into this tuning, that i would "self harm" and injure myself to work on this song.. i don't expect people to even like this,, but i think some one might be interested in a way "playing that really means that much to you that you'd injure yourself to do it". yes, if it meant i'd get a recording i'd like with a drummer and there was a bassist that knew what to play, i would be very interested in doing that... maybe just dicking around with guitar on drugs i could find that tuning again, but i'm never going to devote my time to that.. if i could just do it consciously, i might actually be looking to still play music injured.. there are honestly so many styles of music i can play holding the guitar in way that i don't injure myself though, so it's not worth it to me.. even when i didn't realize there was a way i could play music with out hurting myself, i wasn't really playing music cause i didn't want to injure myself... thankfully i found a new way to hold the guitar.

there's a ton of stuff i'd say is really interesting on this bandcamp. they are all random tunings for the most part and songs no one has ever done similar stuff to before.. i realize some people might think that's not a good thing... the songs "take 01" and "take 02" are really special to me.. i only tune the guitar like that on psychedelics. never been able to figure out that tuning with out them https://robertleblanc.bandcamp.com/album/mark-and-samantha-dot-net-best-of

here's another song i wrote on acid a few years back.. it's in a collection of songs called "weird hate" with the "jandek and andy mckee" song above.

this song sounds a bit more professional imo... i'm actually crazy proud of and in love with this song.. it's called "i am a rake" and at the time post malone's song that was like "crash at my place, baby i'm a wreck" or whatever came out, and i was like "is he saying 'i'm a rake'" lol.. also miley cirus "wrecking ball" came out and i kept hearing "you raped me" and "you raked me" instead of "wrecked me"... this is actually a halloween song, about raking leaves.

anyways, i'm gonna give a lot less music reviews of random stuff i like when i give recommendations and just make a website that lists everything i've ever listened to reviewed... sometimes i want to tell stories about my life and how they relate to the songs, but i figure some people might just like the recommendations for songs with out the back story... i'm until i decide to put that website in my profile link, i'm gonna cut down on the posting about my own music and what not.. i don't want to spam... i just feel like my music has a lot to do with drugs and mental illness and i play with psychedelics as a form of performance enhancer, so i have a lot to say about it.

oh yeah.. i talked about this a few times on this website, and i wanted to link to this... the whole story of my bio in great detail is gonna be on my website if anybody wants to read it, but when i was fourteen, me and 3 friends made this bad. one of the kids was really young... listen to the first song "coercion song" and check out the harmonics... we started as an operation ivy cover band, but right when i learned harmonics at guitar lessons my friend wrote the chords and i just knew the harmonics would be sick.. i used to hate that "mudshovel" by staind was coming out at the same time. lol. i never really liked the masculine power of that song back then. i was cool with getting infuenced by stuff like "i don't know anything" by mad season" and "counterfeit" by limp bizcuit. i always thought we would've made it big, but people thought we were a mudshovel rip off band.. not the case at all. lol.

the second song "rip" is just a pentatonic scale riff along with a bass line that we came up with early.. it's supposed to looped and annoying like hip hop. was in love with this.. we also had a song "not my crime" which was my response to seeiing the anti-heroes punk band, and i thought i did a better job. i had a voice in a dream tell me to "draw an x on the fret board of the guitar" which gave me the chord structure, and i just knew how to solo in pentatonic over it.. honestly some of the best of penatonic scale used in punk that i've ever heard and i was like 14 playing this stuff.

anyways, this was most of our songs with out the operation ivy covers... this was pretty much why i got into drugs... i decided to give up on these songs cause the voices i had telling me what to play i thought was satan and i thought we were selling our souls. lol. we did a bunch of random hardcore bands after this that totally sucked, until i started doing good music again when i started tripping at 17 or 18... lol... some how my mind went totally insane with out drugs and i got really creative on this project. i sometimes think this is so good that i wonder if drugs really helped with my music, but honestly sometimes i think i loose perpective on what i'm doing with psychedelics and crazy stuff happens...

i dunno. the fact that i think this stuff is so good should at least be interesting to some one, whether or not they like the stuff i'm doing. i'm super proud of it.... i think i wrote everything about my music.. maybe i'll post some new stuff to my vimeo and post it to the stickied "post your recording" threads every once and a while... but yeah... this band i've mentioned a bunch of times on this site.. would not've felt so good about my drug use if it weren't for this.. if i knew i was schizophrenic and it wasn't selling my soul, i probably would've still played in that band. when i was like 18, i tried to replay some of the stuff. the stuff is so fucking simple, but i couldn't pick up on the beat again.. it's like my mind or god didn't want me to do it.. that band is just these recordings.. i feel like it's gonna get remembered in history.. i picked up a lot of random releases by other bands that i want to try to get remembered in history by posting them on my website... like this band the plan i was in played with this other crazy ass band in my friends basement as a kid. i have the only recording of that... i documented a ton of other good stuff too. i always post stuff on this site, i'm gonna do a total collection of my music and everything i love on one website some time.. probably TMI for most people, but i just love this stuff.

so i'm posting a ton about my music... i was posting a ton of other people's work in the metal thread in the music discussion forum of reddit. i said i'd stop and i stop because i was just posting so much stuff... i've been on a kick posting about this new guitar and posting my music recently and trying to get people to realize why i love my own music so much... so not much more of this from me. i don't want to get flagged for spam (not really looking for permission to post more either.) i have a few other videos i did yesterday when talking in the thread in the longue "i was so impressed by you tube that i went back in time and contacted the mayans." it's about drinking too much caffeine and playing guitar... but anyways, here's the second short video i did with my 12 string guitar.. i did 4 4-5 minute videos, and only one will be let on vimeo with my weekly limit. i would've loved to post them all, and they will be on my vimeo in upcoming weeks if any body wants to hear the whole style of playing. i won't be making anymore videos with this guitar for a while. i'm gonna let it sit and see if i get into the same tuning again on a later day. won't be posting stuff on that to blue light. just don't want to post too much. i know it's not really asked for, but i would be interested by this stuff if it were someone else, so i'm posting...

here's a video of the 12 string electric japense fender with the portable danelectro amp in the more folky way instead of the more bizarre loose wavering free jazz playing. i wish i could've uploaded that in the other videos to compare it to some other obscure music if anybody wanted to check that out, but i guess there isn't enough room on vimeo:

here's an old acoustic tuning that's supposed to be a similar open tuning, but for some reason, i tune a few strings differently by accident and despite the fact that i use the fret board the same. the tunings make a bit different sound. i think there are a lot of the same notes in the tunings.. this version is a bit different pace than the electric version. i've posted this to the "post your recording" section of blue light music months back, but here is is again to compare the electric to the acoustic sound. i think some people that know guitar will be able to tell the notes that are supposed to be similar with the hammerons. i think they are actually kind off, but both sound good. i don't think most people would really have good enough years to know what's going on in random open tunings like this. just no one is actually that good... but i know some people out there can tell THERE IS SOME DIFFERENCE in the key, but it's cool how both tunings will sound pretty similar despite some of the strings are tuned different:

^^^^^this acoustic tuning actually sounded kind of bad to me the last time i listened to it, but i just listened to it again a few times and i think it sounds correct.
