This may seem stupid but I came across some odd looking mushrooms I've never seen before growing in my backyard, and knowing how Psilocybe looks like; I noticed a strong comparison. I was wondering if they could possibly be legit magic mushrooms or just poison. Although I'm not touching them until I know what they really are.

it's pretty much impossible to tell over the internet, which is why we generally don't allow ID questions, as it could result in someone giving harmful advice. It's not terribly likely that they are psilocybe species growing in your backyard, but it's not impossible either. It is ill-advised at best to eat unidentified wild mushrooms though, so unless you have a friend who's familiar with picking wild psilocybes i'd leave them alone. There's also a wealth of information on all things shroom over at shroomery.org They could probably direct you to some proper field ID guides. Hope that helps!
