I have been experimenting with Ambien over the years and I have encountered some interesting results. I noticed that if I am able to stay awake past the initial sleeping window (<15 mins), I can achieve a mild high. I also noticed that Ambien can provide some strange dreams them seem very real, i.e., "lucid". The problem is these dreams can be rather unpleasant and they tend to be forgotten the next day due to the deep sleep that Ambien provides.

Recently I have been loving the heck out of kratom and I realized that it provides euphoria, alertness (helps me stay awake), and very mild psychedelic effects. I imagine you can see what I'm getting at. Well, it sounds like a great combination, but opiates and benzos can be a dangerous combination if the dosage is not measured correctly. The best way to use this combination is a large dose of benzo in proportion to a small dose of opiate. For this reason the ratio of benzo to opiate should be about 2:1. That means, if it takes 10mg of Ambien to put you out, and 5 grams of kratom to get a moderate high, you should take 20mg Ambien and 5 grams of kratom.

To top it all off, kava is a benzo that decreases anxiety and provides mild psychedelic effects that will improve the lucid dreams, plus it doesn't interact with the other two substances. I suggest you take a standard dose of kava extract, approx 1 dropper full. With all that said and done, the final ratio of Ambien:kratom:kava should be 2:1:1. Happy lucid dreaming :), put on some music while your at it, it tends to improve the experience quite a bit.

Disclaimer: I cannot guarantee that these drugs will not interact with something you are currently taking or have unexpected interactions with each other. This combination was achieved by a high level of drug intuition, a good understanding of psychiatry, and personal experience. Use your head, use what you know to perfect it to your liking. Just keep in mind - high benzo, low opiate.

We dont use SWIM here. Anyway, ive just recently discovered valerian roots. Ive yet to try it by itself while sleeping but supposedly, it can help induce lucid dreaming.

Hey OP,

Zolpidem is not a benzo although it does potentiate GABA by binding to the same receptors as benzo class drugs. Kava kava is even farther away from being a benzo although I don't recall the exact mechanism of how it promotes GABA off the top of my head.

Ummm I'm not really sure how if 10mg of Ambien knocks you unconsciousness you can recommend taking double that and a bunch of kratom and kava kava on top.

Regardless this post really belongs in your blog. If you read the OD Guidelines as found in my signature you'll see that we are a forum specializing in harm reduction. All you've done is outline your own personal favourite combination which really isn't appropriate for OD. If you'd like you could write up a trip report on your lucid dreaming and and post it in the Trip Reports forum. For now though I'm going to close this.

Feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns.
