Ice in the bong? (@_@)

Hey I love a clean bong with fresh water just as much as the other guy...but mine and several other I have encounter feature an ice catcher.

i rather enjoy putting Ice in my bong and inhaling a chill cold fresh hit of smooth rewarding and mildly brisk marijuana....but my friend said an ICE BONG is bad for you.

Appearenetly the ice vapor causes water build up in your lungs and makes you cough more with more dangerousness?

Tell me its not true !!!

Well theoretically, if the smoke is cooled it will condense and then when its pulled into the lungs the ambient heat of the lung environment will cause it to expand thus being driven forcefully into the alveoli causing prolapse.

But smoke fucks your lungs anyway, so I'm not sure how much difference it actually makes in practice. But I definitely wouldn't be surprised if it was more damaging by a significant factor.

I could see it making a difference, but a significant one?

I could be wrong.. but like you said, compared to the act of smoking, I don't think ice makes much of a difference one way or another.

Definitely NOT true...The best bong hits are ice hits.Even better, I found the vaporizer is the BEST HIGH-unless you have a 6 foot bong for ice hits- and a mason jar of nugs,of course.

I have a 2 hose hookah but I don't prefer herd in it.We have a great head shop with a hookah bar that is pimpin'.
I want a gas mask....oh-and an old dentist chair.sick.I love it.=D

Ice vapour! water crystals! Dihydrogen monoxide gas! Oh noes!

A long time ago I was in a strange city and met some guys who told me that bongs were unhealthy because water crystals would get into your lungs and stay there. He wasn't even talking about ice bongs. I didn't argue because he was nice enough to share his spliff.

This.

The ice is cooling the smoke, but the hot smoke is melting the ice, stands to reason you are getting a bit of water vapor in your lungs as well... But water vapor is nothing compared to smoke on your lungs.
 
I dont think itd make much of a difference, water vapour in your lungs? What about something called humidity?

The worst that i could imagine is what Roger&Me said in his first post...But hey! your smoking weed anyways im assuming you arnt a super freak about what happens to your lungs. If worried just use a Vape...
 
SMoking an ice bong always gives me a sore throat after some time - Illedelph created the coil condenser so as to remove the risk of "getting frost" in your smoke. I've heard it is bad for you and can cause particulate buildup inside your lungs because as the smoke cools it turns into a resin more easily as it has less energy within it keeping it as a smoke suspension.

ive always just dropped 3-4 cubes in my bong water they eventually melt, but its always a cool <3 refreshing session to say the least
