Opioids Ibogaine to get off Methadone

I'm so tired of waking up with no energy, not being able to live a normal life as methadone is so much of a chore in itself to be on.
I have weened myself down to 35 mg daily (liquid). I have read about Ibogaine treatments that magically rid the body of opiates and leave people bewildered, withdrawl-free and left with the bulk of the matter in their lap in regards to continuing treatment, counsilling, etc and not relapsing. I am confident that this would be the best thing for me but am discouraged looking online at these facilities that charge up to <an unattainable amount of money> to treat you for 4 or 5 days. The only one I am aware of around Toronto (my location), charges <a lesser but still unattainable amount of money> for drug treatment. Now this is probably the cheapest treatment option for ibogaine, but it is still something out of my grasp as I don't even have the energy to work the job I used to. I feel like a shell of my former self, I'm sick of feeling depressed about my situation and feeling ashamed for the depression as it was me who got myself here. I'm sure some of you may know what I'm talking about, and bluelight is actually a really good thing for me as I have zero social life or friends other than my sig. other, I am alone with the bulk of the shit I have to go through.
I'm sure there are some users reading this who think "boohoo, what a fuckin pussy, grow up and be accountable", can those users please just not even bother with your 2 cents. Really, I'm just so tired of all this. I used to be a gifted jazz drummer and now I don't even play and I just want my life back.

To the point. I am really considering buying this drug online, getting a competant sitter who knows about all of this to help me through it, and doing it on my own. I am not sure if this is even an option, I'm sure some of you know more about the treatment process itself, etc etc. I know that it's not a cure-all.
Thank's for taking the time to read this,
Hope to hear from you all soon,
Ev8)

There are alternatives!

One day ibogaine will not cost as much, I hope.

For now you have options.

Have you tried doing a methadone taper before? How far did you get on it? I would also be interested about why you are trying to get off methadone.

What questions do you have? I am not seeing a lot of questions here, just more of a contemplation. Nonetheless - I hope you make it one day.

what ibogaine is hailed for is that it allows you to peer outside yourself and back in touching the ways and feelings you do not know you feel and "healing" you spiritually. which methadone does not. there is two parts to opioid dependence, psychological and physical iboga address primmarily the psychological although people report that physical withdrawal also subsides with use, your prob just out of your damn mind by then

I was reluctant to ever increase my methadone dose, even when my doc wanted me to - in canada it's ultimately YOUR decision. I have came down from 40-35 and I have had to deal with cravings, etc all along but that's not much of an issue for me. I have not tried to ween off methadone, but why would anyone rather do that over months and months rather than take ibogaine and rid their body of dope. I am mostly just sick of the inconveniences methadone causes and I never have any energy to do anything. I never have an appetite, so I eat poorly, I hardly sleep, all these things are from methadone and they all contribute to me being in poor physical and mental health and feeling like shit all the time. If I could rid my body of all the drugs through Iboga, I really don't think I would walk back into using as I am not so prone to relapse anyway. I'm just usually a very cheery, happy, outgoing person. I dont even really leave my house anymore, etc. I want to go to university, I want to travel more, I wan't more out of live than methadone can offer me, and I know I can't do any of those things on methadone. I'm sick of walking to the pharmacy everyday, pissing in front of people, and generally feeling like a fuckin junkie. I'm not one.

<snip>
Not to be insulting, as I told lady finger I wouldn't be, but if you're going to a methadone clinic it is not incorrect to classify one's self as a junky. I know I am one, and was one even when I went to the clinic and wasn't doing any other opiates.

I'm sick of feeling depressed about my situation and feeling ashamed for the depression as it was me who got myself here
Yes, that's the worst part. I never felt like that more than when I was going to the clinic. The daily grind, the feeling of having no control, the constant feeling of being looked down upon... I hated it so much. I think it's not only normal to feel that way when going to a clinic, but it's the RIGHT feeling to have when going to a clinic. I went from 220mg down to 15. It's doable, but of course it isn't fun at all. I walked away at 15mg and was clean for more than 30 days.

You CAN do it. You really can. It's 100% mental... if you want to be clean you can be clean. Try going down 1 or 2mg a week. Even if you do go to some treatment center for ibogaine it will not hurt you to be on a lesser dose. 1 or 2mg a week is not much at all to detox, and yes you will have serious cravings but if you really hate your life as much as I did when I was on the clinic than I recommend you start a taper/detox. Seriously, use the situation to your advantage. Look at how much you fucking hate it, look at the people around you in the clinic, use the fact that it really sucks to get off! Good luck.

yeah just keep tapering down you are almost there really...35mgs isn't that much. do it slowly and even though it wont be fun it might help with the depression because you will know that you are headed in the right direction. in a few months you will be opiate free! and you dont have to pay thousands of dollars for ibogaine or any other "quick fx" schemes.

you can do it!

Hey Evvvvvv,

A lot of people on here can understand and relate just to what you're going through. People won't think that you are as you put it "a fuckin pussy". Opiate addiction really messes your head up and can do a lot of psychological damage. You seem to be doing good though thus far, 35mg is a fairly low dose, just keep weening down more and more until you get to where you want to be, which is 0!

I can relate to your feelings of being like a shell and unable to do the things you love anymore. For some reason that is just how opiates effect you. They take away feelings and emotions leaving you feeling like a shell.

You just need to keep doing what you're doing man, you're doing well thus far, just keep it up and you'll do fine.
