IBOGAINE (730 mg) - First Time - Welcome Back to My Life

Fantastic, tobala... thanks for sharing! This is my favorite ibogaine report even if it didn't contain mystical encounters with denizens of the spirit world. Stay strong, and don't let you fool yourself.

To those talking about curing addiction with another drug... have you read about ibogaine's pharmacological action? Part of its effect is in filling the receptors filled by many types of addictive drugs (especially opiates) to literally remove cravings. People have used it in this way to get past opiate withdrawals. Iboga can be used to provide a way to make yourself want to quit because it can force you to face your problem with honesty rather than the many layers of self-deception one would usually view one's problem from.

The next one will, I promise. Now I have a rough dosage/effects ratio and--as I mentioned--I plan to up the next dosage to at least 15mg/kg or about 1200 mg. If the denizens aren't around then, I will interpret that to mean I came a'knockin' on Bingo Night. :\

Besides, now the money I'm saving on blow can be spent on ibogaine. ;)

^^^^ Agreed. A distinct possibility, but at least now I have some idea of what I'm getting myself into.

Very nice report: candid and eloquent. From reading this report it sounds like ibogaine hcl isn't altogether unpleasant. I've refrained from trying it (or attempting to buy it) because of the reported dysphoric somatic effects. Do you think that there might be a significant difference in effects between iboga the plant and ibogaine hcl? I imagine some of the dysphoric effects reported can be accounted for by the fact that its users were struggling through withdrawal symptoms. The depth of the trip combined the uniqueness of this chemical makes it very intriguing, at least for a one-time try.

There probably are some minor differences between ingesting 98% ibogaine HCL extract and ingesting the root bark. The root bark has the following alkaloid profile:

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Analysis of T. iboga root bark using silica TLC, eluting twice with ethyl acetate followed by staining with iodine vapor, showed ibogaine as a dark brown spot (Rf = 0.16) with a trail (depending on concentration), a red spot (Rf = 0.07) belonging to ibogaline below it, and a small brown spot (Rf = 0.21), assumed to be ibogamine, slightly above it. The percentages of ibogaine, ibogaline, and ibogamine appear to be 80%, 15%, and 5% respectively judging by the size and density of the stained spots. The spot for ibogaline gave a red stain using Keller's reagent (12), confirming its identity (9). Occasionally a batch of root would contain ibogaine and ibogamine but little or no ibogaline, and perhaps this was a related Tabernanthe species (9). TLC analysis of root wood, stem bark or leaves of the T. iboga plant showed negligible ibogaine.

Re the dysphoria, no doubt having an opiate monkey on one's back would affect both the psychological and physiological aspects of the trip. Worrying about the return of physical withdrawal symptoms is a serious consideration. I personally didn't have that worry.

After the first hour, I enjoyed the experience. That of course could change at a higher dosage. As they say, there's only one way to find out...

This is great! I'm happy for you!

How are you feeling, now that you've had, what, 10 days to reflect? Any cravings or bad feelings?

much love to you, tobala!

great read,

i didnt read some of the most recent responses so sorry if this has been said but everyone whos getting their panties in a bunch over using one drug to quit another needs to take a long hard look at heroin & other opiate addiction & the success rating of suboxone/subutex/methadone etc. personally i feel methadone i garbage for quitting H but suboxone helps immensely if the patient is educated on it.

I'll put it like this:

Before, if coke wasn't available, my days would turn into 16 hours of sleeping and 8 hours feeling miserable that I didn't have any coke.

After ibogaine, my days are 16 hours getting stuff done and occasionally thinking, "Well, it would be nice to have a blow, but you're quitting, remember?" and then getting back to work. Then going to bed and having a good 6-8 hour sleep.

After 10 days, the cravings still come and go but they are quite ignorable. I believe some sort of receptor reset has occurred. It didn't seem dramatic at first, but it's there and I feel it's....just effective. So far, that is.

I mean, it's only been 10 days, lol. I can't get ahead of myself or overconfident.

such a positive testimony to the right use of psychedelic drugs (healing).

I hope this gets on erowid where it will get more publicity and others will hear about the positive healing aspects of psychedelic drugs.

That was a terrific read. I always love reading reports on the rarer substances, but the fact that it was such a positive experience makes it that much better. I wish you the best in the future. :)

That was a really good report..
It really sounded like you were at a crossroad in your life and went though a positive change. I hope it is powerful enough to last.
I hope the best for you and your son, kids can be very powerful influences I think ever sacrifice we make for them is rewarded 100 fold in the end.
